Don't forget all of the unfair "pressure" they (Rockets) placed on him by giving up 3 first round picks to get him. Those bastards!
Xiki you are an incurable optimist. The EG chapter is over in Houston and the NBA. His flameout reminds me of John Brown whom Frederick Douglas called "The Meteor". To me, EG was like a meteor streaking across the night sky before burning up itself up in the Earth's atmosphere.
Yes, I am Mr Half-Full Glass, ever the optimist. However you misinterpreted my statement. I don't expect him to return to Rockland. I don't care that he won't. However, if he achieves court success (that is basketball court) THIS season playing elsewhere that would bother me. If he gets his act together off the court, good for him. But on the court? Just not too soon, ok?
Old Man Rock, This is my opinion, so please don't take it personal. Have you heard the term "broken record"? Eddie has. All people in Eddie's past has done was tell him how much potential he has and what he SHOULD be and knock him down, because he WASN'T what people envisioned. Constently remind him that he needs o get back on the horse. I'm sure he hears it everyday. As much as you might believe that you're doing this BBS a favor, unless your in Eddie's inner circle, you might stick with the greetings like "Hey you're tall. Could you keep an eye on my drink while I squirt?". Try to avoid the "You gotta do this or that". He has already heard it. Sometimes one statement can make a person crack. Did you ever think about what his ex-GF might have said to make him point a gun to her? This guy doesn't need to be reminded. Perhaps he shouldn't get back on this horse. Perhaps he should find an alternative employment that he enjoys and focus onfamily. Perhaps....
What do you mean? Something like, "Please point a gun at me?" I didn't realize that there was anything you could say to make someone point a gun at you.
I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that if a record has one of it's groves messed up, it would continue to loop the same section over and over again.
Yeah, but I wonder who said it first... could be a "scratched" record, but not a BROKEN RECORD... it's not like it's the OLYMPICS, right?
So, Eddie's indiscretions are going to be one of the main causes of the Civil War? Nice historical analogy, Hillboy!
This saying comes from the (first) days of vinyl records. When the pickup stylus (needle) encountered a crack, a scratch or a piece of dirt, it would get knocked into the previous groove, so the same little bit of music would play forever - in essence playing the previous passage over and over and over. Today it's used when you want to shut someone up who was saying the same thing over and over again. Hence the phrase "You sound like a broken record".
