But Hakeem kept putting up SICK numbers....

Tmac has not even done that? Has he posted up? Has he attacked the rim? Has he gone after the offensive rebounds?

    No !

Tmac is clearly down about the condition of the team, and that is totally understandable, but he could WILL them to a few wins instead of hanging his head.

Hakeem, by the way, did not start trusting his teamates until he was out and the rest of the team went on a 15 or 16 game winning streak.

Tmac could lead.....but he has to WANT to.

Who is he going to lead? How is he going to get to the basket?

Yes he has tried posting up and he constantly gets double teamed. You don't usually shoot over a double team, especially while posting up.. Instead you pass the ball to the open man and he punishes the defense. Is he passing the ball? Yes. Are they making the shots? No

Has he attacked the rim? It's pretty f***ing hard to attack the rim when you are double teamed after you cross the half court line and are trapped having pretty much no space to move

Has he gone after the offensive rebounds? Umm yes he has. I have seen him multiple times go after the offensive rebound for putbacks even late into the 3rd and 4th quarter...

Have you actually been watching the games? I dont think so...

and LOL at willing them to victory. He's going to will Lonnie Baxter, Stephen Graham, the rookie Luther Head, Wesley, and Swift to victory?

Are you kidding me? Can he will them to make shots?

    Get real....

Tracy himself mentioned that right now the Rockets remind him of Orlando in his final season with the team.

When things are going well Tracy seems to embrace his leadership role ~ right now he seems to be low energy and (I hate to say it) sulky.

Exactly....he is a great player, but his leadership qualities are sorely lacking.

Fair enough, I would like to see more on that front as well, nothing wrong with that.

This is true. Tmac needs to force the action more, he's just settling for what the defense gives him which will win games for us if we had a healthy roster...right now it won't cut it. Unforunately, I don't believe Tmac believes that's how the game should be played, maybe JVG has a little to do with it too, who knows. But we do know that when Tmac is surrounded by a HORRIBLE team, he looks BAD (compared to his old self) and shoots even worse.

I wonder if any team in the past 10 years has had so many significant members of their roster on the IL as ours has this year. That would be an interesting factoid to know.

Comparing AI to TMac year in and year out. AI never had a great team surounding him, he never had much real chance with his teammates. He doesn't slack off, just throws his body out there every single game.

I would say that any team that AI was on, if TMac had been on that team, then would have won just as much, maybe more. Put TMac on that current Philly team with Webber, Korver, Dalembert, etc.,.............and their record is every bit as good as it is now.

Someone has yet to find an exact quote of T-Mac actually stating that

It's all based on a reference from a Chron article

And until I see a quote where he says something about comparing the team with the Orlando team, I'm not going to believe that

I honestly think if he were to say something about Orlando and this team, it would be something along the lines of "My role now is more like it was when I was in Orlando" referring to scoring more and dominating the ball etc

The 15 game win streak happened after Hakeem came back, not when he was hurt.

    I think you are incorrect.

Hakeem may have come back during the end of it, but I clearly remember him saying that he found out his teamates could play without him and started trusting them much more.

I think people are feeling like T-mac is a frontrunner

the guy in the gym . . who knows everyone and everyone's game
so he knows when he on a GOOD TEAM
he works hard and tries hard and looks GREAT
    but
when he on a team he considers scrubs
He don't play defense . . he jacks up shots and basically just
going through the motions until he can get back on a good team

I think this is what folx are worried about

I'm not saying it is true
    but
I hope to see alot of effort tonite

If Rockets lose tonight's game, it's time to put T-mac on injury list and waiting for Yao back. I do not want to see T-mac out while yao coming back.

It amazes me how people keep trying to put Tmac in the same sentence with Jordan. Stop it !!! I agree with the person that started this thread, Tmac gave up and I was disappointed. To me it look like Tmac was just going through the motion.

    How so . .
Why go 1-10 waiting on yao to get back
only to have T-mac go down again

    When we may got 0-11
then have T-mac and Yao both back
    at 100%

    I dunno anyone worth Tanking for . . .
