I probably shouldn't respond to this, this being the time of year of peace and love and all, but this is truly an ignorant and immature post. A lot of us enjoy the Rox and sports in general and like the discussing that with more than just the people we see in regular life. Especially for those us like me who haven't lived in Houston for years I rarely get a chance to discuss, cheer or commiserate about the Rox and other Houston teams with other fans. Next you may not be aware that there are other forums here and many of us also like to come here and discuss other issues besides basketball. I can say for myself most of my posts are in other forums besides GARM because I think the Clutchfans community is much more interesting than just basketball. Finally this whole thing about calling people bandwagon fans or telling people to go root for another team is just ridiculous. The team is doing poorly and as fans we what to know why the team is doing poorly and also talk about ways the team could better. If we didn't care we wouldn't bother and just go on to root for another team. Just because you love the team doesn't mean you're not going to criticize the coach, players or management when they do poorly. For instance Red Sox and Greenbay fans are some of the most loyal in any sport but when those teams do badly sure as hell the fans criticize. All this crap about calling other fans bandwagoners or haters is just an immature way of expressing your frustration with the team to other fans or pumping yourself up as being the true fan. Sure there are people who clearly have biases regarding Yao, JVG or Francis but for the most part everyone here is here because the love the Rox.
and I didn't start any threads when they started off the season slow. I started this thread because the team quit the last two games. Would you care to address that or maybe you just can't disagree with this. edit: I really wouldn't start these threads if the guy wasn't running his mouth all the time about what he's gonna do. He's the one who just said he was gonna put this team on his shoulders. Now he's in an article today talking about how he feels like he is on that 21 win Orlando team. He shouldn't be talking about that. And you guys telling me I should move on, he's the one talking about what happened two seasons ago at the most inopportune time. I'm tired of all these posts about how its sooooo hard on Tracy. this guy is a part of this team win or lose. soon as they look bad a bunch of threads start about the supporting casts, about how we hope he doesn't get frustrated because its starting to look like Orlando. He gets a free pass in ****ing thread in this forum. and when he does get criticism, all you guys with your heads up his jock can't say anything but Francis.
I still dont understand yall fools, The team we have out there right now sucks we are injured they arent just not trying its they are like man I cant believe this happend. DA is the 2nd best scorer on the team right now with Yao out and he isnt back yet when Deke and DA come i think we can go maybe .500 or a little above, but did you expect very much from this team with Bowen leave open Howard good hustle Baxter would be 12th man on any other team same with grahm and wesley well last year once the playoffs started that was the end for him and we got Head good player but shouldnt be playing this many big minutes unless he was the top draft pick of like the hawks or something. Give the team a break and admit that yall are fair weather fans who are mad at Tmac when the dude cant do anything if he has no one else that can score hes got 3 guys on him and he passes the ball to who?
I was going to leave this thread alone but I ask ya'll to do one thing Address the question . . not the questioner Ya'll so busy Labeling PGabriel that you are not defending your man Everyone wants to scream how poor our Role Players are now That does not Absolve a star of his responsibility alot of these role players are a. WHAT WE ASKED FOR b. What we had last year You cannot LOVE BOWEN in one thread then dog him here T-mac *has* to step up because wel . . . who else will we b*tch at YAO for not stepping up in T-mac's absence well . .. now T-mac has to catch some of that with Yao out it is only fair. I said going 0-8 without T-mac was atrocious if we go like 1-8 without Yao . .it will likewise be atrocious we have to MUSCLE out some wins when the chips are down QUESTION: Did the Rocket team play hard from start to finish last nite? Is a 20+ pt drubbing the best we can expect Rocket River
thank you. I don't know what spell this guy has over these fans. Its not wins and losses I started this thread about. its effort, its leadership, its time to step it up. this guy has gone 12-44 in Yao's absence. for the season he shooting 41%. Its unbelievable. Tracy McGrady, the teflon don. I really don't get it. Like you said, even Yao got his criticism with Tracy out. And Yao pretty much was the same, a few good games a few bad games. that's the story of his career. But tracy can do no wrong. I don't get it. look, I appreciate this guy's basketball skills just as much as the next guy as a fan of the game. But that doesn't excuse the lack of effort, the quit when times get hard, and the eventual, "well look what I have to work with" comments.
I think that some of JVG's comments last night about how tough it is to come to play when you suck were directed at T-Mac. You've got to admit - and this has zero to do with steve francis or anything else - f-k steve francis, McGrady is much better and always will be - when a guy starts talking about how he's seen this before (playing on abysmal teams) and its the same guy who has admitted he didn't play as hard when he played on such teams it should be cause for concern to any rational observer. But go ahead and shoot the messenger, and I'm sure I'll be crucified for this post too. Why do facts hate so much?
I read this observation in another thread and posters flaming McGrady for making comparisons to Orlando. Where in Feigen's article is Mcgrady quoted in comparing this team to Orlando? Forgive me but I want proof/exact quote and not hearsay from Feigen.
Exactly. I think if T-Mac were to have said anything about Orlando, it would be more to the likes of "My role now is going to be like my role was in Orlando where I have to score a lot..." I don't think T-Mac will actually compare this squad to Orlando's squad Anyone have the Postgame quotes from last night?
What's funny about this is that last year when we started horribly everyone said the players quit on JVG - I guess they reconsidered as the season progressed. This year, we've lost most of our starting line up, been without the services of 1 of our 2 studs for long periods of time, lost some backup help, and an important backup center - all due to injury, and all anyone can point to is TMac not being a leader or the team quitting.
Page C-1 of the chronicle "It's just like it, just like it" McGrady said of that 21-win season. "It's tough. Having been through it I know how frustrating it was. How difficult wins were to come by. I see that's where we're heading right now" That's pretty plain as day to me.
I too was going to leave this thread alone... pg you actually made some good points.. I believe Barkley or Kenny stated this on TNT "A leader means more than just scoring every night, you have to help your teammates step up their game." Now have injuries hurt this team this year... Yes, but every great leader has obsticales and challenges in thier pathway that they must overcome. Putting your team on your shoulders means more than just going out and scoring 50 points every night.. Leadership consist of attitude, detemination and motivation. T_Man
Can you honestly say this team played hard the last two nights. As far as last season is concerned, this team didn't play hard until Bob Sura joined the team. Its funny you talk about how people were complaining about the team giving up on JVG, when the biggest complainer about effort last season was well um, JVG.
Not sure what any of this has to do with effort. We suck. You can try as hard as you want but when you suck, you suck. (see: Bowen, Ryan)
his wife was behind us at the last home game and I let her know what she needs to buy her husband for Christmas. A JUMP SHOT. har har har
well for the first time since he's been here, the media is saying something. Just finished watching extra points and Tim Melton was saying T-Mac looked like he was giving the "last season in Orlando" effort so while a few of you guys still have your heads in the sand, I'll continue to promote truth.
a few? pretty much everyone in the thread has denounced you. especially when a mod disagrees with you, then you know your point really is invalid. Harry Potter spoke, and it was written.
Thank you for finding the quote many were referring to. This helps because the article on the Chronicle site does not contain any quotes from the players. However I won't condemn his comments. He's right ... wins will be difficult to obtain if some of the injured players that have been on the inactive list for weeks already don't come back soon and if his teammates don't start making shots.
wtf does that have to do with the price of tea in china. everyone on this site wanted swift, I was in that minority also. does swift not suck because everyone on this site wanted him? I mean really, if what everyone on this site said actually mattered, we out to just have one thread that should say the rockets is the bestest ever and require all posts to agree. your point is idioc
