Umm. Duh? That's kind of the point. If a cop can arrest someone (legitimately I guess, IMO) for simply yelling at him in public view, you'd think something like carrying an AR-15 at a protest would constitute a graver threat. Hell, 100s of people were arrested at the RNC in NYC for just being there! Your perspective is totally ****ed up.
I think if you are stupid enough to bring a gun to a presidential event without thinking of the implications of that act...you deserve a Darwin award. Definitely deserve to be thrown in jail and questioned by the Secret Service. I mean, these guys are crazy. You can't bring guns anywhere near a President, Obama, Bush, Carter - whomever. At least, you shouldn't be able to. Right to bear arms wasn't meant for the citizens to wave guns around the POTUS. I don't see how one could argue otherwise.
Whats the difference between the man having friends in a Militia and Obama being buddy buddy with ex-members of the Weather Underground Organization that done more messed up things than "Viper Militia" ever done in their entire existence? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight.....
But the problem is the people who brought guns found that the laws never state that even if the President is in the room, you are allowed to bring guns if the owner of the private property allows you and you have a permit. Think about it, all you need is 1 person, just 1 armed person....
Riiiiiiiiiight wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing nutz So a man in a militia carry a gun should be allowed near the POTUS? You should never work in risk management.
You do have a right to own a gun. You do NOT have a right to take that gun to a town hall meeting (especially if the President is there). Some may say that if you have a permit you can carry. While that may be true, if you are carrying legally, nobody will know it. (ie concealed carry) If somebody is carrying their gun to a town hall meeting, they should get an all expenses paid trip to the county jail.
blah blah blah. I never said that anyone should be allowed to carry a gun near president. What I AM saying is that the person I was replying to is trying to connect a militia with this guy when I can FACTUALLY connect Obama to a former terrorist group that actually is still involved in politics and is one of the main reasons Obama got into Chicago politics. AND Obama held meetings in former members homes while running for Senator. So, take your D & D kiddy games else where.
whoever carries a gun near where the POTUS is scheduled to make an appearance or whoever supports them pretty much makes life easier for people who are plotting to hard the POTUS and makes the job of protecting the POTUS alot more difficult
To be fair, there are some places that mandate that if you carry a weapon, it must be visible. That said, the people bringing guns to town hall meetings are loony.
This was discussed ad nauseum during the campaign but Obama has no connection to the Weather Underground. The Weather Underground had long since ceased to exist by the time Obama got involved in politics.
He chose to attend an event held at the house of a man who was a Weatherman when Obama was in junior high school.
