The Spurs game is at 8:30 because of ESPN otherwise it would have been at 7:30.The Suns of course are on pacific time zone .
I don't forsee any tanking. There are different pulls factors. In general, yes I think teams would prefer to play the Rockets, have home court and get away from the 4/5 bracket. In the end tanking would be a mixed bag for all teams because it achieves some but not the others, and in the end homecourt is the chief prize and winning increases the chances.. The only possible exception would be if SA and Houston had won Phx might shuts it down in the 2nd half because they are locked in #6 starting at the Spurs. The is no scenario like the one a few years ago where some totally dumb team won the last couple in order to draw the Mavs as a 5 seed when they could have played a weaker Sonics (i think it was them) in the 6 spot--when at that time all division winners were 1-2-3. Thankfully the NBA fixed that.
I have a question, So if we do get HCA does anyone know under what scenarios we'd play on Sat and under which ones we'd play on Sunday?
I don't think that will get decided until they know the matchups. The NBA will surely put sexy matchups in prime viewing spots.
I know that was more concerned on whether they would play on Sat. not the time because if they play on Sat. me and the wife can drive down but Sunday is a no go
The Suns "might prefer a San Antonio + New Orleans road to the conference finals over a Houston + LA"? Would you change your mind if I tell you NO swept PHX 4-0 this season?
c/o 92!! oh, and spurs radio host is praying thay get us in the 1st round. I'd love to shove a series victory up their silver, black and pink asses.
Thank you, Matt. You are like Aleve, without the drowsiness. Looks like the only way to not get home court is to screw ourselves out of it with a lost to lowly Clippers.
Thanks for the confirmation. This scenario won't happen because that means PHX would have to play UTA on the road, so they will try hard to win and play HOU on the road - huge difference for them.
If SAS and HOU win, then PHX would want to beat POR because then they would play HOU; if PHX loses, they would then play UTA. In either event, PHX does not have HCA. I would rather meet PHX than UTA in the first round; HOU would have HCA in either event.
Him? I dunno. I graduated in 2003. And after a couple years at North Texas... University of Houston! Whoo! Now I'm looking for an internship (broadcast journalism major).
At their highest level LA, SA and Phx are the teams to beat and the worst match-ups for the Rockets. Utah is a little bt better match-up, but not by a lot. Phx would love to play NO in round 2--throw the regular season out. I am not sure NO is going to get by Dallas (or possibly Denver honestly). JVG said as much today as well.
I want a slice. MMM. And btw who would ever have though that in the history of the NBA there'd be a the possibility for a case where a team (the Suns) was a higher seed than another team (the Rockets), won the three-team tiebreak to do so, but STILL lost home court advantage by virtue of losing the two-team tiebreak?!? What a season.
