Has anyone written a draft? As Vescey posted, we should really leave CF.net out of this, I'm sure Clutch has already has his share of issues w/ the Rockets. Here is a little something from the top of my head:
I would chip in $10 If it will help make them think about the teams future not just now. I would hate to see the Rockets laughed at like the Knicks because of the ill thought out moves of the front office. Can we hire West so we can shaft somebody else instead of being the shaftee?
hmmm... not bad draft, gucci888. but my imho i think that ridiculousness needs to be matched with ridiculousness. the trade was ridiculous and the majority of the people of this board agree. sooo... ... why not match their ridiculous trade with a ridiculous ad that could make people that read the paper laugh? either way... serious ad or stupid ad... we're not going to be taken seriously, but it would be fun to have people take notice that the rockets management have done something that was... well... to say the least bit, not smart. with that being said... i think one of two simple ads would do... 1. "GOOD JOB ON THE DRAFT ROCKETS!" in really big letters on top of the ad, a picture of a "thumbs up", and then in really small letters at the bottom saying "no... not really". or something that would be a little more obsure for the average newspaper reader, like... 2. "JUNE 27TH, 2006 - The worst form of PW3NISM that this Great City of Houston has ever seen..." in big letters. then take borrow from clutch's idea in slightly smaller letters... "Learn to be 'Gay'-friendly on Draft Day". then in really small letters, "Courtesy of the vast majority of diehard Rockets fans." stupid=stupid imho (in this case anyway). any other ideas?
just an update... got a call back and told her what the idea behind the ad was. she's calling back with prices soon. price on size, color and day. what size? full page (six columnsx28"), half page (six columsx10 1/2"), and quarter of a page (three columnsx10") ???
I know they may not take it seriously, but I think if it was a serious letter, they would have to at least address it seriously. I'm truly disappointed and I think the majority of the fans are. I personally think it would be better if we let them know how seriously disappointed we are with the front office. I just don't want us to come off as emotional crazy fans that are just pissed about the trade. There are other things that I'm personally disappointed as well. But that's just my opinion. Also, I think the best thing is to put a full page ad in the Sunday paper, that'll definitely catch their attention.
