^%&#$, someone freaking do something! Clutch, please lead this effort. If this can make a difference, you've done a huge favor for the Houston Rockets and its fans. It might be a bigger favor than anything you've done on Clutchfans.net and Clutchcity.com in the past decade.
The best thing to do is not to have any personal or "name calling" comments in the ad. If we do this, we should put together an articulated letter stating how furious we are w/ the trade. There are ways we can do this w/o sounding like crazy rabid fans. Much like the VY letter posted a couple months back, 1. State Who We Are 2. Why we think the trade is terrible 3. And some of the consequences that may result. It's not like they are going to cancel the trade but I think someone would have to at least respond to a full page letter addressed to JVG, CD, and Les.
i have voted terrible move on every single computer i have logged on whenever i visit the clutch fans web site. whether it was at home, school, college, public library, friends house. that was a bad move period.
That sorta defeats the purpose.... and it isn't like there is any need to pad the numbers to make your point.
Ha ha. Yeah it's pretty much 80% of us that are calling the move terrible. It's not going to move significantly from that for a long time.
What is up bro. Yeah, I too, have talked my self down from the ledge and no matter how hard I try, I can never give up on my squad. In the end, I have a good feeling that things will work out. I mean nothing can be worse than the Eddie Griffin trade of 2001.
nothing much... ker... "nothing" as in "nothing on our end of the trade". lol of course i'll root on the team, but rox management sure does make it hard. just because we root them on doesn't mean that we can't voice our displeasure with this bs. it's part of being a fan... whether it's booing after a blowing a 20+ point lead in the fourth, calling in to disagree with a team move on a sports talk show, or... putting an ad in the chron. argh! that trade was ridiculous! still down.
Don't mind, "Rockets111"..... He's just one of those people that wishes we all took ritalin and attended Phil Collins' concerts...
Clutch, at least respond man Please dash the hopes of these hooligans. Next thing you know, they wanna go riot
i don't think it would be right for clutch to respond to this thread. it's apparent that rockets management come to this board (ex: poll on game start times, red alert games, etc.) we wouldn't want that to be jeopardized. i'd rather see him interviewing players like he did before last season so that he can post it for us on the board and giving us the scoops like the jvg interview. if this is to be done... something along the lines of "this ad was paid for by the members of cf.net and do not necessarily voice the opinion of the owner"... or something like that. anyway... munco... get my email?
if u guys do take out an ad, make sure u say something like "We still love Shane even if he do play in houston" or "Shane is a good player that fits our team" because most likely ur ad is not going to change anything
I personally believe that CF.net should NOT be referenced in ANY way. Even a small hint of collaboration would convey the notion that this site was benefiting from the ad and subsequent plug -- at the detriment to the team. I highly suspect Rockets officials would not take too kindly to that. Plus, I would not want to be responsible in any way for jeopardizing Clutch's relationship with the team.
read previous posts. it's not to change anything. it's stupid to think that i'll change anything. it's just simply voicing displeasure and i think fans have the right to do just that. this was the part i was stuck on. we agree on the "jeopardizing" issue.
i called and spoke with the secretary there at advertising. she then passed me over to the voicemail of the assistant of the person that we need to talk to if this is to be done. left a voicemail with call back number. i'll call back in an hour if there's no response. there's things that need to be talked about... -sizes of the ad and the price -black and white or color and the price -one day ad? -national or local chron and price the prices are hard to read here. the prices for sunday are quite a bit higher, so weekday i'm assuming.
