they dont think they are communist chinese or mainland chinese! but all of them know consider themself chinese race! just like the people in hongkong most of us dont tell other or call ourself chinese , we like to tell people we are hong kong people or hong kongnese, but in our heart we all know we are chinese race, the decent of the dragon!
there is sick american like to see a seprate china n dont want to accept the fact people in taiwan are chinese too! they are afraid taiwan reunification with mainland , they are jealous n afraid to see a strong china , they american want to be the only super power in the world. look at thier action today ignoring the majority of the war to go to war in iraq, do u want to see america as the only super power!?
That sound pretty good. However, I don't want the distinction between race and citizenship get entirely shadowed by musical words, because apparently there is a different there. For example, the Quebecers(is this the right word?) are of French race, but they are Canadians. They are proud of both being French descendants(racially and culturally) and being Canadians(politically). Now, do you consider yourself Chinese both in term of belonging to the Chinese race and being a Chinese citizen? Going back to Yao Ming, are you proud of him both because he's from China or because he belongs to the Chinese race. Sorry, I am very ignorant in these issues, but I am always curious. I hope I don't offend people when ask questions like these. My questions might be dumb and meaningless, and if so, let me know and I'll stop asking next time.

doesnt matter wheres from , becuz he is a great chinese player , chinese people will be very proud of him even if he is from america, nigeria or sout afrrica. u know bruce lee , u know micheal chang( the tennis player) whether ming is from china or not , as long as he is chinese peoples will feel proud of him!
there is no different in like yao , as i said before , bruce lee is a us citizen , micheal chang is a us citizen , chinese peoples still love them becuz they are chinese race , not their citizenship n comparing taiwan n canada quebec is very different!

i truly doubt if u are chinese n if u know what u talking about! people in hong kong are not chinese hongkongese taiwanese two race that doesnt exist, its more of a politcal term !most chinese in hk are catonese chinese from taiwan are mostly fukienese before but why people still call hongkong ppl or hongkongnese or taiwnese is what i was trying to explain!
