That's incredible, you would think a GM does what a CEO does as well. It's not like Rockets are a Costco or Walmart. Hmmmm

no one is cheering for Tilman to fail

no one is happy that he’s been awful and rooting for it continue...that’s not a thing on here

The Rockets aren’t winning, and with Tilman at the helm, why should anyone be happy or confident about the direction of the team moving forward right now? We just went from 65 wins to historically awful in 3 years.

General manager deals with basketball operations and finances, nba is a billion dollar game. CEO overseas marketing, finances, international relations so on, arena, facilities. A lot goes on to make this ball and goal become the product and entertainment feature that we have before us. Brown was with us for 20 years, oversaw multiple rebrands and transitions, outdated morey, harden, Yao, tmac, etc. by all accounts very well regarded, even got in that la singers face after chris Paul’s fight with rondo. It’s a behind the scenes role, but now we only have Eric Gordon left standing

People are irrational about Tilman on here. I'd appreciate if you'd acknowledged that. I agree with the rest. I just happen to believe that we weren't gonna win it all when the perfect marriage (of Harden and CP3) wasn't so perfect. Championship teams don't have chemistry issues like CP3/Harden. Harden was doing fine, but CP3 was underperforming. That writing was on the wall. Our lack of future draft picks to deal away to make us slightly better was gone. Morey spent his last dime with our future.

It is what it is. That's what I'm focused on. A lot of people seem to focus on what they believe was this: It wasn't what it was.

I'm not sure that focus on the past gets us anywhere right now. It might mean something in the future(3-4 years from now), but it means nothing now. Tad Brown leaving and the reactions are childish. From over here it appears to be tantrums that don't mean anything going forward.

but today is just today. Roy Rubin got canned, Philly came back. Even the Knix are like Phoenix, rising from the ashes. The desert is finally, finally a garden; the garden is finally, finally blooming. How would you feel under Sarver, Dolan for an aeon?

will next season’s Rox return to respectability? This summer is ginormous for the team, the franchise, for us, the fan base.

The 52% is mega ginormous. Who gets signed. Who is traded, for what?

Kobe and Shaq had way worse chemistry issues than Harden and CP3

Draymond and KD had way worse chemistry issues, and GS still likely wins the title in 2019 if KD or even just Klay doesn’t get injured

    MJ treated his teammates horribly

a lot of championship teams had issues

The chemistry issues between Harden and CP3 are way overblown.

How many picks did we give away trying to duck the tax? Then Tilman pushes through a trade for Westbrook that has us losing pretty much all our relevant remaining assets.

the past shows us what could be in store for the future...MDA, Morey, and Harden all left on bad terms, that’s a big deal...now Tad is out citing the loss of those 3 as 1 of the reasons

I can’t fault people for being mad when the Rockets are getting destroyed right before our very eyes

Not sure about the Costco comparison. Walmart definitely: very cheap.

Hmm, tilfart has this phrase in his billionaire book: When life gives you lemons...make piss, then sell it for lemonade.

Bro, we have a bright future. A good owner, young core filled with good talent that plays hard despite being left in the worst possible position. These guys were abandoned by the captain and senior crew while they were let out at sea to survive.

Tate still goes out there every night and plays his heart out, he even looks promising at points. A rookie, fighting like hell for a team that wont make the playoffs. Imagine Tate in 2-3 years with the right development. Some see Green, sometimes Tate looks like Kawhi to me.

Yeah we going to lose some more but this team will be competitive soon. Book it!

The tweet about 'its a selfish thing and not about Tilman' sounds incredibly similar to Morey in the week after he departed. Just saying.

It doesn't mean he hates Tilman as a person. He's being gracious. As is the case with any and all true job resignations, if you wanted to be there you could still be there. We will see if he magically shows up with another franchise this off-season.

Tad Brown wasn’t afraid to let his hands go to defend his team. Not many fought for the Rockets like he did publicly.

I guess we won't know until the season is over if it's really about his family . I will withhold judgment... But I think we will all be really upset if he signs with another team this summer

One reason I don't buy the Family excuse is cause he is in his fifties... I'm assuming his kids are already grown up....

Usually the family crap is when you have young kids before they go to college

I think personally my gut feeling I think it's either because we are in such bad shape it's going to take years to get good or because him and Tillman have already butt heads on the draft pick this summer... My initial gut feeling when I heard the news was that tad was being respectful and gracious, but he doesn't want to go through a rough rebuild.

Tad did say it was hard losing morey and Mike and harden...guessing that's code for "rebuilding sucks".. im putting words in his mouth but I just don't buy the family excuse ( unless a family member is going through cancer I would understand)

Irrational? I am looking at what has happened since he bought the team. I am looking at his role in that. I am looking at how he conducts business and treats people in the outside world. I am looking at how many people have left the organization since he took over and who he has replaced them with. I don't think Patrick Fertitta playing a major role in the organization portends anything good for the future. How is thinking otherwise "rational?"

There is no defense for Tilman in any of this. He paid too much to buy the team in the first place. He should sell the team.
