Sorry dude. There is a McDonalds on Jefferson & Taylor... heart of Fisherman's Wharf. There's also a Burger King on Taylor, between Beach & Jefferson.
Great movie, I own it on DVD. That is one of my favorite scenes of all time, and I laughed at it many times. Then I grew up and realized through the miracle of factual evidence and research that some Corporations actually for some reason think its perfectly fine to dump chemicals into a pond in Alabama and disfigure many of the African Americans living near it. Maybe Matt Damon can speak to them sometime. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kgMiLYF-sM4&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kgMiLYF-sM4&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Your move counselor.
I have now admitted 3 times that my facts were outdated on that bit of info. I need to just edit it out of that post I guess.
Yeah, many of them do. I had in mind the kind with fried/crusted chicken or strips of beef. But you're right, most have grilled chicken. I make things out to be worse sometimes to try and prove a biased point.
thanks for the cleaver. you rule. And on a completely unrelated note I agree with everything CHI has ever said.
Their Guacamole is like crack. They are supposedly all for organic ingredients, and healthy meat... yet they are owned by McDonalds now and one of their burritos has more sodium and calories in it than most people in the civilized world consume in 3 meals. I wish they had smaller portions.
Good thing I don't like guacamole. Yeah, you can really taste the sodium actually. I think it's mostly in the rice. That being said, I think it's a much better option than most of the other stuff out there.
Gave my girlfriend food poisoning the only time we went there. Never again. Chipotle tastes better anyway!
I shouldn't be stating my stances on Mexican Food right now as it is my weakness, I'm hungry, its 12:25, I have to leave for work in 2 minutes. I worked out at 8AM, and for the last 4 hours instead of eating breakfast I've been sitting on the BBS debating Von Wafer and The Fast Food Industry. Damn you BBS. Damn you.
odd on Quiznos. Though I have noticed a dramatic difference between stores, I wouldn't have thought you'd see a difference in TYPE of lettuce, cause I've always had Romaine. And they use cherry tomatoes (though I don't usually eat raw tomatoes).. so I wonder if you had a weird experience or ate it a long time ago? They also use relatively thin-sliced onions, but not *super* thin (which I agree is the best way) But Panera is def. better.. both are more expensive than I'd like!
Yup, the majority of it is basically a video recap of points brought up in Fast Food Nation and Omnivore's Dilemma. I recommend seeing it if you are curious at all about healthy food and nutrition.
Yeah, all the Quiznos I've gone to have different lettuce and tomatoes for the salads than for the sandwiches. The sandwiches get that iceberg crap, but the salads get romaine; sliced tomato vs. cherry as well. Subway does something similar, except I don't think they have cherry tomatoes. ... but then again, I never get salads. I need to gain weight, not lose it!
I think nothing will significantly change the fast food industry because there aren't too many people who are protesting for a change... FF will be around for a long time....probably forever. Americans are just too used to convenience and cheap food. i sparsely eat fast food if i'm on a run and can't stop by home to make myself something to eat. i watched a segment on good morning america last week...they tested the reporter's blood after eating a meal at a chain restaurant...her blood came out cloudy as opposed to clear before eating. i really wish there is a farmer's market close to my house so i could go shopping for veggies/fruits but have to stick to supermarkets for now.
"You will actually be eating the garbage you produce!" "4% meat... Yeah Yeah that's bad.. for the environment" Those had me rolling. Speaking of Taco Bell did anyone see that crap commercial last night? I did the same thing after I read Fast Food Nation. Months later I was right back at Jack in the Box.
Fresh, organic dairy butter contains the exact same tert-butyl that TBHQ contains, via butyric acid. So by your mixed up version of chemistry, butter is loaded with butane too. Have you eliminated all butter from your diet, both directly and as an ingredient?
