Butane is lighter fluid. TBHQ is not. I have no spin, I am just telling you the facts. Don't eat anything prepackaged if you don't like preservatives. I make my own bread and it goes bad in 3 days. Compare that to Rainbow or something. Also look into those things claiming to be organic. Mostly anything that occurs in nature can be called such. Some pretty serious chemicals occur in nature. Preservatives have made the supermarkets possible. Without them we would mostly be eating salted meats out of a can or something.
Fair enough. Personally, though, while I respect your issues with the food industry, it just doesn't bother me all that much. I'm not oblivious to the crap that goes in some of my food, especially when eating out (which is one reason why I try not to eat out so much). And of course I'd love it if the food industry developed better practices. But it's really not gonna keep me from eating certain foods, on the occasions I decide to be bad. qft
I've actually read more than 5 books and seen a couple movies. I think they call that research, but correct me if I'm wrong. I mean its all relative right? You're a crusader too right? I'm not telling you how to eat at all, you're missing the point. Don't get so defensive over it, I'm not telling anyone how to eat... just voicing my own particular opinions. I'm just asking people to examine some of the facts for their own benefit. I mean you'd think people would want to know exactly whats going into the food they are consuming. But I'm fine with you Anti, You can still shove a couple of Big Macs down your gullet after a passionate mutual masturbation session in tinman's film room to the Clip of T-mac missing that dunk against the Bucks shown in Super Slow Motion again and again and again on his latest HDTV with all the bells and whistles. Do what makes you happy!
Cute, but what do you expect me to think you're trying to say when making a remark like that? Seems like you're trying to discredit/undermine him. But if you want to play that game... guess what... I never said you said he wasn't right. It's a shame more people don't read.
Ah good to see that a semester of college hasn't completely extinguished your inner-douchebag! Keep speaking truth to power!
Thats fine, Eating is a very personal decision. Regardless of the crap we're eating, age expectancy is still a lot higher now that it was 80 years ago. If you know the facts behind what you eat and you continue to eat it, that is a a freedom and a personal decision just like anything else, and I honestly don't think less of you for it. I just hope that by making people more aware, perhaps eventually consumer demand will force some of the FF giants to expose more of their practices so we are all more educated about what we're putting into our bodies and then we can go from there.
I agree with your point that people should watch what they eat. I think the better crusade is educating people about caloric intake and macronutrients rather than worrying about preservatives. If you follow a healthy diet the amount of prepackaged and McDonalds food you eat will be low anyways. The saturated fat will kill you much faster than the preservatives.
Turning people away from fast food..... good job.... I doubt a little forum persuasion is going to keep someone from going out and getting a whopper and some french fries when they got no food in the house and they're hungry... just saying it like it is...
Wrong. I live 4 blocks from the Wharf. There's a McDonald's right on the Wharf, as well as a Burger King at at Taylor and Beach. Not to mention Johnny Rockets as well.
