Hate to break it to you, but Adelman doesn't care about any of that, nor should he. He's a coach who wants to win, and he'll play the guys he thinks give him the best chance to do that. Since he probably won't be back next year, the Rockets can't do anything about that unless they fire him, which I doubt they want to do. Les didn't want to fire Rudy or JVG either, it just sort of "happened". I see Lee's minutes going way up. I wouldn't even be surprised if he played more backup point than Dragic.
Of course he isn't happy with it. He's been busting his ass trying to get this inferior collection of assets to the playoffs, then with 20+ games left, the org moves the guy he trusts the most, along with the pg he won a playoff series with and whom he invested a lot of time in trying to get going again. I'd be pissed too. Don't expect him to play along with this little experiment DM is trying to run.
Adelman's job got a whole lot tougher. He finally figured out how to compensate with the team's lack of size by going small with Battier at the 4, and now even that option has been taken away from him. Williams may get time at small forward out of default.
Lee hasn't shot under 50% in the last 6 games. Do you reward Lee with starter minutes or give it to TWill instead?
I want to see what this kid got, but knowing Idleman, i wont be surprised to see Patterson at SF and TWill still gets the bench treatment. Martin/Bud/Scola will be nightmare, I say Rick insert Patterson at Battier's spot. Lowry/Dragic Martin/Lee Patterson/Budinger Scola/Hill Hayes/Miller Sorry TWill and Thabeet...until RA is replaced, you guys will be in suits.
