It's not normal we have to take so much time to "adapt". Thats the reason you have camp and all that bull crap before the season! Last year the Celtics where ready from the GET-GO!

his future with the rockets is very simple.

    1) if he plays like he should and we go far in the playoffs, we might sign him to a lesser contract when his current contract is over. his injuries do not warrant him a max contract any longer (maybe $7-8 million per yr)

    2) we let him contract run out in 2010 and let him go. use the cap space to sign another star.

    3) if his knee still bothers him, we might just trade him at the trade deadline to someone else and just get rid of him.

#3 is highly unlikely b/c his knee will get better.

why would you want to get rid of a player who, in the playoffs WHERE IT MATTERS, carried our offense. his game rises to another level EACH AND EVERY year. we got artest so that he WOULDNT have to score in bunches, and he's not omg so our plan is working?! we can win without big games from tmac??? ommmmggggg noooo trade him. don't be idiots, our team is fine, we have 2 offenses machines, that yes struggle at times, but they can step it up when it counts they have proven it time and time again.

I say we keep him becasue we all know what he can do when healthy. But at times it seen like he may never be healthy again and thats the bad part, if that turns out to be true we have to let him go.

keep him until 2010 then re-sign him for 10-12m. Im a big tmac fan, but his value really drops with his injuries. plus, he's rich already, a 10m hit shouldnt be a biggie for him.

use the remaining 8-10m from the savings, free up some more by waiving some players and go after a 2010 free agent like Bosh. although it isnt as easy as that especially if we extend Ron's contract next year. he currently earns 8.5m? so far with his performance, that's the most we should offer him unless he ups it up for the rest of the season, then i say we extend him for 3 years at 10-12m. im not sure what our salary situation would look like then, but im willing to trade landry and/or scola, if it could mean us signing someone like Bosh.

    Tmac
    Artest
    Bosh
    Yao

i think by 2010, if we still don't go far in the playoffs, not only will you not see tracy here, you might not see yao here either. you might not see ron here either. it could be a drastically different team.

Some of you guys are funny. When the man is dishing out great passes you love him basically when he is winning games for the rockets yall love and praise him but when he doesnt win everyone is saying lets trade him blah blah blah. I wonder how things were back in the days when Francis didnt have a good game.

The chances of Bosh coming here are about as great as AntiSonic embracing reality. Which is, you know, minimal.

No way we'll pay him 10 million after this contract is up, if he keeps declining and is always injury prone. No thanks. And Bosh is going to get a max contract just like Wade/Lebron/Melo, so don't get your hopes high.

But we'll be able to pick up a nice role player, with Tracy's contract not there. (Maggette-Lite?)

bosh is NOT going to come here. we have too many PFs.

we're not going to get lebron or wade. they both want to go to big cities (and looks like wade wants to settle down in miami)

He'll probably play out the rest of his contract with the Rockets and then, for better or worse, I can see Houston offering him a deal for about 25% of what he's making now. He could also go somewhere else and that might rejuvenate his career like Brad Lidge, but I doubt it.

TMac for Rip Hamilton and fillers.

I know, I'm dreaming. But it would make THE TEAM better.

I know that TMac carries us in certain situations. But this is now an Adelman team, and we can experience the success that Adelman's Kings had in the early 2000s.

Also think of the fact that we are much better defensively than the old Kings team, so it gives us merit as a championship calibre team (where as the kings never made the NBA finals as there defense wasn't just a little above average).

We need to mold that sort of team, but with the defensive stoppers like Ron, Battier and Hayes. We can't have a TMac in a team like that as he is not a good off-the-ball player.

By the time TMac's contract expires, RA would be long gone from here. So that is not an option unless we think VERY long term and just deal with what we have now and lookinto rebuilding once Tmac and Yao era is dismantled.

I'll tell you what; this season is a mae or break season. We may still win a title with TMac if we can at least make the conf semis this yr. I think it would rejuvinate the squad, and spark some interest from other free agents.

You guys do know that when it runs out the Rockets can't just sign someone to the money T-Mac was making right? At the moment the Rockets are over the salary cap so if it was to expire today all it would do is reduce the Rockets payroll to about the salary cap level. To sign a big star when his runs out the Rockets would have to decide now to rebuild and whipe off a few other contracts.... and thats not going to happen.

Morey, Bill, and Bull have all said that he's probably gonna have problems with his knee the whole year and it could be that he will struggle with it his whole career from now on. If that's the case then we probably won't make it out the first round again come playoffs... :(
