Heck I understand that...I am commenting on his horrible effort in tonight's game.

I just don't sugarcoat it like some of the T-bunnies do.

If he sucks balls, I call it.....if he plays great, I call it.

Tonight, he was sucking golf balls through a garden hose.

But for crying out loud, don't hurt the T-girlfriends feelings by saying their Man is stinking....

    It just ain't right.

I don't deal in excuses, I deal in results.......

Where have I heard this before? Oh right..in the Texans section..

No one here is setting for mediocrity. Assuming Mcgrady is still a Rockets player in playoff time, we want him to be healthy. I mistakenly mentioned 5 months, but playoffs are still about 4 months away!

You do realize NO ONE is really ready at the start, right? Players don't come into training camp magically ready as if this was feb or march...most arent even truly ready by preseason because they need to get out there and play against different competition, not just their own teammates. This is tmac's preseason, he's been playing with his teammates exclusively, like he would in training camp. You dont bench someone who's going to be a signficant part of your team in preseason because he's not ready. There's a reason why he's being limited to 7-8 mins in the first quarter and that's because they understand tmac needs his preseason, but they are trying to limit any mistakes of his from influencing the game because for everyone else it's the regular season. You can't expect him to get ready by riding the bench and just practicing, no one gets ready that way.

IMO, if he's going to complain to the media about his playing time and engage in publicity stunts, then he should be able to consistently play good offense and defense.

    Worth repeating.

All this jazz about being ready to go. Either you are ready or you aren't. He needs to be able to pull it together for a few minutes consistently. Yes, rehab/recovery is a process, but McGrady is the one saying he's ready. Grover has said T-Mac's insertion into the lineup is overdue.

Which is it? This is a critical time to McGrady's rep.

DD, its a PROCESS. The offense is starting to come for McGrady, and we'll hopefully see the DEFENSE come in as well.

Fricken too right....I mean he knows it is only 8 minutes, WTF is he resting on Defense for?

Get out and hustle.....right now, in his limited role, he has earned more time on the bench.

Horse crap, defense is about effort, I can forgive the offense more than the defense.

Stop making excuses....he is not playing with effort on defense.

It tells me that you have nothing of quality to say on this BBS which has been proven time and time again that you will not admit fault with Tmac...no matter how badly he sucks.

Of course, other than there is no should. You should know that the Tmac off the court is another person than on the court.

i can say he didn't play well too, that's not the point. The point is you have to understand that's going to happen. It's like Budinger, you wanna bench him because he plays badly one game and good the next? Because that tells me he's not ready either. Should we bench him until he's ready all the time? I know it's not the same situation, but the point remains neither is ready, tmac because of his rehab process and Bu because he's a rook. Regardless of their "excuse", which are both valid ones in this case, you have to play them if you ever want them to be ready, but you limit them. Budinger get's benched whenhe starts cold, tmac only play 7 mins in the first. It's not rocket science here, it's basketball, and it's been going on for YEARS all across the league.

So when he's off the court, he can tell the media he's ready to go, but when he's on the court, we shouldn't expect him to be ready to go?

    Brilliant.

    RV,

You are being reasonable, but you are missing the point.

Sucking happens, but I don't mind the sucking...as long as there is EFFORT, tonight, there was a significant LACK OF EFFORT on defense......

That is the issue..it has nothing to do with injury, or microfracture, or anything other than simply not trying....

That......alone....is the issue I have with Tmac's game tonight.....

Last night....he was great on O, bad on D, but at least he gave more effort....

Tonight....no, it was just not there.....

That is the point I am making.....which you seem to be missing.

because segregating people because they don't care about tmac's play is so important on a BBS isn't it? I try to spend quality time in the real life instead of bumping T-mac threads now. It is just fun to see you harping on one person time and time again.

    It has been 6 years.

Unless you are suggesting microfracture surgery might have made him a good defender.
