Because fans need to relate to players

They got needs. They like teams and players.

Lin is not perfect but he is an interesting media guy and ok player most of the time.

Tmac is as flawed in many ways but he was an interesting player in his time and attracted a lot of fans.

He might have said things of which he sure is not proud of but fans need to move on.

If you have a problem with that, you need a better way to deal with it.

Olajuwon was the best player and very close to Jordan IMO, graceful and elegant.

Tmac, Carter are the next generation, two gaps behind Kobe and Jordan. That is all.

FYI Second round is not something one should be proud of either.

There is only one winner in sports and 29 losing teams every year.

We are neither the Spurs nor the Heat, we were neither Boston nor the Lakers when Yao played. DEAL WITH IT!

You don't understand life and sports completely.

A lot of young fans wanted someone spectacular.

Duncan is not spectacular at all and without Popovich he might even win a championship.

Had he played in Houston, there is no guarantee that he would win a championship.

We have hope in players and when they fail we should hold no grudge, and focus on other things.

When someone is targeting Tracy fans that only tells me that you are masochistic. Going over it a million times.
You don't want to have a good conversation. And you are not going to get one either way.

as usual McGrady fans will NEVER answer the question that he quit on his team.

Let me also say this to all of you McGrady supporters. You always complain that he never had a supporting cast while in Houston. However in 04'-'05 they won 51 gms, '06-'07 they won 52 gms, '07-'08 they won FIFTY-FIVE gms, and in '08-'09 they won 53 gms (and moved on to the 2nd rd without McGrady).

If they didn't have the supporting cast how in the hell did they win 50 + gms FOUR different seasons while he was a Rocket?

Hell I'm not even talking about winning a championship I'm talking about getting out of the freakin FIRST RD!!!!

Answer this. Did the Rockets have a Hall of Fame player on the roster when Yao & Artest led them to the 2nd rd in '08-'09?

We all know the answer to this, but it's obvious McGrady fans have their head SHOVED SO FAR UP THEIR @$$ THEY'RE CLUELESS!!!!!

If it's about championships, then they would NEVER have a segment about mcgrady .

The segment is about why mcgrady failed.

Steve Kerr said he can see the difference between him vs bird and Jordan

And then mcgrady fans start quacking like ducks in a pond

In the famous words of Fred Sanford.....YOU BIG DUMMY!!!

If the segment is about why he failed.....what do you think FAILED mean??? Why he never won a Championship, why do you think they compared him to Jordan, Bird, etc........GET OFF THIS BOARD!

duh! you can never win a championship if you can't lead a team past the first round of the playoffs!

if they had superstars who played 15 years plus and never won a playoff series, that would only be one, tracy mcgrady.

I'll take this one too! Uuuuuh, it's because he was playing hurt. Haven't you ever watched the video, didn't you ever read any of the articles leading up to that game, don't you know what happen after the game?

And besides, is there some sort of prize for going to the 2nd round? Is Yao and Artest better players because they went to the 2nd round? Has Yao ever been first team All-NBA? What has Yao ever done? Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of his but had it not been for his countrymen, he would have been a 2 time, maybe 3 time All-Star at best.

Being the better fighter . . .and actually winning the fight are two different things.

for all his moves and skill . .. its a competition not build on 'style points'.

Forgive me but I'm still laughing at this idiot statement!!

If it's about championships, then they would NEVER have a segment about mcgrady .

You should change your name to BLANKMAN!!!

The segment is about why mcgrady failed.

    Here's another one!

When did PP win a championship??? When he got HELP!

You ask DM if he would be satisfied getting to the NBA Championship Game or winning it? If you are 2nd or 22nd, it doesn't matter, you didn't win, only 1st place.

Clutch City, doesn't become Clutch City, if the Rockets would have fell short....it would have been just a good season after coming back down 3-1 and winning a playoff series. But because we won the Championship, Clutch City was born.

You can help Tracy McGrady win a championship then..

pick up a copy of NBA2K for your super nintendo, then make sure you turn injuries off, make sure you delete Tim Duncan, Kobe, LeBron off the roster,

    and there you go!!

Oh and you can delete Steve kerr too

Not True, Jordan would have won many playoff series. McGrady always shot below .450 and Jordan would shoot .475 - .550. McGrady took too many bad shots and on top of stealing shots from better shooters he didn't play good defense. His hi scoring averages were really shallow when you look at it. Not the case for Jordan.

    Sorry but nice try.

and Yet they won a series with Yao but not with T-Mac so your wrong if we go by facts. Yao was a stud and was efficient. Again, T-Mac couldn't shoot above .450 so he play defense for the wrong team.

Did McGrady ever look disinterested in the playoffs the same way James Harden did this year? They won 50 games 3/4 of those seasons SOLELY based on McGrady's tremendous play, that cannot be argued; the supporting casts were so thin that I don't think they ever had a 6th man that scored double digits average-wise.

The point you mae about having won 50+ games four different seasons while he was a Rocket is a little out of context, lets examine why:
His first season as a Rocket, they made the 5th seed and lost their starting PF and 4th leading scorer... their starting PF that series was Ryan Bowen and featured a supporting cast with Mike James as their 6th man. Despite the series being openly rigged by Donaughy, they still took it to 7.

His 3rd season as a Rocket was another one of those 50 win seasons. In the playoffs, McGrady had one of his best series as an NBA player, but had literally NO support from anywhere, Yao was overmatched by the outside skills of Boozer and Okur, Luther freakin Head was your feature man off the bench, and the Jazz seemed to have every bounce go their way in game 7.

His 4th season as a Rocket was the 22 game win streak, not much to say here... Yao went down 11 games into the streak, McGrady finished the season obviously injured and playing through pain to give his team a playoff shot, and they were just overmatched by the Jazz's talent and experience.

That last season as a Rocket with Artest and company was the only season you could criticize him for, he handled that situation poorly, but still... the guy was injured and had microfracture surgery that never lended him to be his old self again. I'm not a McGrady fan, but how can you blame the Rockets 2000-2010 playoff woes on him? Hes one of the only reasons they were relevant in the decade.

Just a thought BUT have any of you ever thought about the matchups we lost Dallas and Utah were bad matchups??? Dallas had several wing players they ran at McGrady, so did Utah. Yao and everybody else were non-factors. Who else step up for us? Similar to this years team. Dwight played above his reg. season numbers but who else stepped up?
