Actually, the Magic are 1-9 now.

I never would have predicted that. Not a good year for Florida...

You can't blame McGrady for that loss. He shot 66%, the rest of the team shot 33%. He probably has the worst supporting cast outside of Vince Carter...

    Right...

Guards have shooting performances like that sometimes. Even Jordan. Maybe you don't remember his 12-30 nights, or 8-27, etc. T-Mac definitely has some things he could improve on, but he's a clear top 5-8 player. He single handedly carried his team into the playoffs two years ago. He's an even better player now, but he needs help.

You're right. Players will have off nights. But you think the Magic's 1-9 start is because T-mac's had off nights? Mcgrady plays poor defense, takes bad shots, and looks bored on a regular basis.
Defend your boy all you want, but he's 'suppose' to be the 2 or 3 best player in the league and can't even get out of the gutter in the Leastern conference. How much help do you need to do better than that? Drew Gooden, Juwon Howard and Lue(whose actually shooting BETTER than T-mac) all contribute a decent amount on his team and could probably contribute more if T-mac stopped taking 22 shots a game. I guess some people just define greatness by how well a player can score.

Sorry, I don't share that same opinion.

Offensively T-mac is a monster when he feels like it. But he's not a winner and never has been.

I agree with some of what you say. He does take some bad shots and has looked bored this season, but you have to admit the other players on the team haven't been doing their part this year. I also don't think T-Mac is #2 or 3. I'd put Shaq, Duncan, KG, and Kobe over him easily. Maybe some others.

He is a shooting guard, you know. He could use some help on decision-making regarding drawing double-teams and passing, shot selection, and driving more, but you make him sound like he isn't even top 10. Why shouldn't T-Mac take 22 shots a game? I think that is a fair amount with the players he has around him.

He has been a winner--2 years ago, but his situation is very stagnant. I know Orlando's management has been criticized alot, and maybe Doc Rivers isn't as great a coach as thought. I'm not saying none of the blame falls on McGrady, but you make it sound like he's totally accountable for his team sucking.

Utah beats Magic at home 90-88. The contrast of overachievement and underachievement!
