Sorry, but we have had WAAAYYYY too many of these threads lately, and they are really quiet pointless. IMHO of course
they have my favourite player, but not the best. I think Shaq is for sure. Oh wait, is he the best or the Most Dominant???
What in the hell are you talking about? Went off on a rant there little buddy. WHo said anything about taking away anything? I said Shaq is the most dominant player, and not the best player. I'm basing on what they can do, basketball wise, INDIVIDUALLY, (I think they asked the best PLAYER) and nothing else. Bring the team in the concept, and the whole argument changes. Talk about what each player can do for his team, that's a different argument too. Talk about which player impacts the game more? No brainer. Talk about who would be the first pick in a fantasy draft, no brainer. Talk about who means more to their team than anyone else? Duh, Shaq................see(2004-2005 Lakers) BUT Talk about the best basketball player, it won't be Shaq.
That this is even debatable is awesome. Who would have thought we would be debating if we have the best player in the NBA last season.
I said true, but only because we don't need Shaq. If we did not have Yao, I'd say False because Shaq is the best player in the league. In other words, Yao makes Tracy the best player in basketball.
You know what's a sad reality? He's only as good as the field goal percentage of his shooters that game. If Barry, Wesley, James, Sura aren't hitting, we lose. T-Mac defers so much that he wont get the necessary shots to score if his guards arent knocking down jumpers. I hope they bring it to dallas.
Shaq > T-Mac - You can't teach force of nature. Duncan > T-Mac - But only if Duncan is 100% healthy and making his freethrows. KG = T-Mac - KG has the potential to be a better player, but he lacks T-Mac's killer instinct. T-Mac > Nowitzki - T-Mac is better at creating his own shots. Nowitzki depends more on a system to get open. T-Mac > Kobe - The ability to inspire trust in teammates is also an important attribute in a basketball player. Oh yeah, Kobe isn't going into the playoffs.
I just don't think you can compare big men with the outside players. It's like comparing apples and oranges. It takes a combo of both players to work succesfully.
