The only Knick I want is David but for a fact I know he isn't gonna get traded so I don't think I would dump one of the biggest expiring contracts to the damn Knick.

its pretty much tmac for hughes. i know tmac is not in good shape right now, but a one legged tmac is still 10 times better than larry hughes.

    i like this.

it's easier to move a $10M expiring contract than a $20M one. as discussed, the rockets will have a tough time finding a team which can take on such a huge deal. this might make it easier for the rockets to bring in some other talent by parlaying hughes to a 3rd team.

Great post... my initial thought when I read:

"The Knicks could dump the expiring contracts of Larry Hughes and Cuttino Mobley on the Rockets to make the deal work"

was.. AND WHAT ELSE? What would be the point in taking back dead weight that expires at the same time when T-Mac atleast has talent? But you're right -- there is value in breaking T-Mac's contract in half. I think if you're not talking any additional salary back, you have to get something better in value in return for T-Mac than just expirings... but probably not much.

what for, we have Scola and Landry.

We'll shop for a center, back up for Yao.

Lee would be some nice trade bait for 3rd team as well. I just see the Knicks giving up Lee for T-Mac though.

Okay I am not a TMac fan but I saw Tmac on the sidelines Sunday cheering for his team like he really meant it. Before it wasn't like that. I suspect part of that is because Yao was on the sideline and wasn't getting the glory. But I also feel like Tmac who once before had little faith in his team is now a believer. He sees this team can win without him.

It's not his team it's not Yao's team it's the Rockets team and when they buy into a system that says no player is greater than the whole they are successful. He can no longer say I don't have Shaq or Duncan. This is a damn good Rocket team and his best chance to shine before he is set out to pasture. And because of that I believe Tmac will try his damndest to to do whatever it takes to stay on board.

Now whether that transforms into a better Tmac depends on his health. But if he can play with more heart and within the team game the Rockets would be hard pressed to find a better player via trade. So while before I never would consider keeping Tmac now I am willing to keep that door open.

Hahaha I rather the Rockets keep McGrady than trade him for that deal. Mobley is done and Larry Hughes is a me 1st player who needs to be the man. He was in the shadow of LeBron and that was horrible. He comes here he is going to be in the shadow of Yao.

I rather keep McGrady instead of doing this deal because atleast McGrady is a playmaker and will know when its time to pass the ball and score.

first of all, why would we trade tmac for expiring contracts when Tmac himself is one? maybe it would be easier for us to trade away two smaller pieces instead of one big contract? nah.

    This rumor is stupid.

I am hoping morey would trade tmac for dwade, as his probability of leaving Heat is alot bigger than lebron.

The rocket will keep Tmac's expiring contract for themselves.

If he can recover from the injury, his playmaking is what the rockets need. The rocket can resign him about 10 millions in 2010.

If he couldn't recover, we can sign another star when his contract expires in 2010.

No team would trade true talents for expiring contracts!

My name has nothing to do with what I said. Its just the honest truth. I'm sure some guys would say the same thing. Having McGrady is going to be a win win situation going into this season.

Contract ends. Yes. Contract year so will he or won't he play the way guys are use to seeing him play.

Cynical...but the sad part is with Tracy's lack of Mental toughness that might actually be a possibility...NY's fans are some vicious bishez, every month seems like it's their time of the month and they always wanna take their periods out on athletes that fail to meet their unrealistic big apple sized expectations...

Definitely agree thank god Morey is in charge. If one of us were driving from this GARM we'd have T-Mac for a bag of chips and Yao for a soda to follow. AB may be our towel boy, VSpan would officially be our new T-Mac, and who knows, Chuck Hayes would be serving chicken tenders at the Toyota Center.

The only player I want on that Knicks team is David Lee.

Tmac and a great chance for Lebron sweep stake for David Lee and expirings. Walsh take it or leave it.
