I like the thought of signing Tmac to a discount rate after this season, i would prefer a 2 or 3 year to a 4 year, but anywhere around 8-10 mil is not bad for wat he can still potentially bring.

Potential starting line up for '10-'11 season:
    Brooks
    Tmac
    Ariza
    Scolandry
    Yao

a great mix of young and proven talent. Yao would be the leading scorer, but definite potential of everyone scoring at about 15 ppg clip. We would have a closer in Mcgrady, a confident pg after the 2010 year of starting, still developing scorer and great defender in ariza, toughness athleticism explosion from scolandry, and Force in the paint with Yao.

That's so true. I can even say that at the beggining of that year (2007) he was playing even better than he was back in 2004/05.

We played the first game against LA that season and I remember someone made a thread like (is T-Mac scared of Kobe?). And Tracy started that game really bad (it was the first game under Rick), he was like 1-6 in the 1st period. But than he bounced back and played at completly different level in the second half. He scored 30 shooting 10-20 and Rockets won. Sure, Kobe was better while scoring 45 but Tracy still won that game.

And than he exploded for 47 against Jazz and it all started. I remember how excited we were. He was playing really fantastic basketball and unfortunately in the 2nd game against LA (in Houston) he injured his elbow. He missed a wekk and neded few games to get his shooting touch back, but even after that he was still dominate.

And than in the 2nd half of that season his knee gave up...

Sigh, if Tmac is scoring 25ppg and shooting 22 times, we are in trouble.....

He needs to be in the 16-19 shot attempts area and play more off the ball.

Everyone gets hot for a time, the problem with Tracy is that he can not sustain it.....

I truly believe Tracy will be back by the season opener or early November. He knows what he has to do to get back at "that" level. Trust me Tracy will be turning a lot of heads next season because quite frankly, the majority of those so called analysts think he's done.

How can you not want a closer like this back?

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WGwqnGXKZB0&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WGwqnGXKZB0&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

This is what we lacked last season..

If he means this elite? I'll take him any day of the week over Kevin Martin, Ellis etc.

Forget about this amazing video but its funny how when the Rockets play teams they are suppose to destroy they are always down in the 1st quarter. Now i know 4th quarter is crunch time but if this team is suppose to be a contender or try to contend for a championship then there is no way that they should EVER be down to a team that is horrible.

He fails far more often than he succeeds, if he was willing to let others close sometimes too, the team would be better off.

Tmac can beat teams by himself sometimes, but he tries to do that far too often an ultimatly it hurts the team in the long run.

    I agree.

But I think he will return as more of a facilitator and closer when we need it.

    That would be IDEAL.

They could suprise you and day of the week..

    Ridnour
    Ray Allen
    R-Lewis
    ?
    Bogut

That was a pretty good team..

This doesnt even make sense. He is a willing passer, especially for a game winner. How quickly we forget Battiers game winner over the Lakers in game one of 2008 and Novaks buzzer beater over the kings, both setup by McGrady.

His game is fine, he just needs to stay healthy.

Sure it does, it means letting others have the ball late and him playing off of it, to keep the defense guessing, let OTHERS make the pass, that is what I mean.

Don't be the ONLY guy with the ball late, allowing defenses to key and shut down the team.

Isn't that the coach's job to decide who will/should be making plays down the stretch? There's a good number of fair criticisms one can come up with against McGrady. To me, that's not one of them. I don't recall him ever pulling a Scottie Pippen and pouting when the final play wasn't run for him.

Yes it is, and when Adelman tried to do it, Tmac whined about not getting his touches.....2 straight years.

Whatever, I ain't doing this again.....let's just see what happens.

LOL, wow brain fart. I confused the Sonics and the Bucks MY BAD.

I believe the center was Robert Swift and the power foward was Reggie Evans?

Funny thing is, were this to have been happening, the current Dakotaism would be something like "A true leader does not defer to teammates in the critical moments of a game, DD"

But yeah, I agree for the most part. I would have loved to have seen Luther and Rafer "have the ball late" and "keep the defense guessing"...guessing which side of the rim their bricks would be bouncing off of. Tracy's teammates have done enough themselves to allow "defenses to key and shut down the team."
