I was thrilled to see him come and I am thrilled to see him go. TMac has worn out his welcome at every team he has been on. Supremely talented, injury prone, and lazy. And he loves to hear himself talk and he talks to much AND usually says the wrong thing. The celeb on tour attitude became old a long time ago. In all fairness, Les and the Rockets never surrounded him with a first class supporting cast, until now and it is too late. I just could never seen him integrating back into the current team. I hope we get something decent in return.
i agree. it's strange. i wanted his butt traded since the beginning of the year, but now that we have come to the end of the road it is kind of sad. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zDKO6XYXioc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zDKO6XYXioc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-pEjiLBwYiQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-pEjiLBwYiQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
I did appreciate his good performances. I don't blame him for losing against Dallas in 04-05. His supporting cast was weak, despite the good start. He didn't show up for a lot of big games, but I'm not angry at him. I wish him well.
I hope he never gets out of the 1st round, I'm that much of a hater and I'll openly admit it right here.

I'm glad this Tracy thing is close to over... but for me there's no bitterness from his time here. It's my belief that we could have won a championship with him if not for one thing: INJURIES. When he did play, he was one the best in the league, and the Rockets were one of the most dangerous teams in the league. Another thing that Tracy should get credit for is that he played well next to Yao Ming. Not a lot superstar duos work out as well as the Yao/Tmac combo did. Here are a few games that I can recall: Clutch Tmac <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EX1weYJJ9nU&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EX1weYJJ9nU&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> A lot of people wish we had the "Orlando McGrady"... but in actuality he was still a capable super-scorer with the Rockets. It's just there was less of a burden for him to score points with Yao and good three point shooters on the team. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/E1w7kPETR-4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/E1w7kPETR-4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Tracy always played big in the playoffs. Of course, we never made it past the first round with him, but honestly you can't fault Tracy alone for that. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rZO1F0nKJHg&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rZO1F0nKJHg&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Here's another game against the Jazz for the fun of it. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/O9yezegWdQ0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/O9yezegWdQ0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I am not a big TMac fan. But still I appreciate the good time he brings to me and to the team. Wish him the best!
Best of luck to him wherever he goes. And yes, I appreciate everything he did for the Rockets. It's unfortunate that things are going to end on such a sour note but at least closure is near. This situation has been supremely awkward, weird and verrrrry drawn out. Just be glad the end is near.
We will always be thankful for this... "He just sucked the gravity right out of the building!" <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Lt_AGxrhOq0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Lt_AGxrhOq0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
I LOVED that play, tinman, but I have to go with 13 in 33. That was one of the most incredible finishes to a game by a player that I've ever seen, and Tracy's response immediately after was awesome. He couldn't believe it himself! Tracy was just stunned, his eyes buggin' out of his head. Said he'd never done anything like that on a court in his life. Such a great game and a great moment. I wish we could have kept that TMac healthy and surrounded by the team we have now. Oh well.
Thank you, tracy, for all the things you have done for the team. I still remember when we fight the Dallas and Utah in the playoffs, those are sweet memories.
The good and the bad of T-mac... He shined and also had dark moments. Ill never forget the 2005 playoffs, we really had something going that year. Who would have thought things would come to this? Wish him the best, but its obvious this team has had enough of the Yao-T-mac era, I beleive it is finally time to move on... Thanks for the memories..
It's depressing because we had such high hopes for the McGrady-Yao combo. McGrady was as talented a player as I ever saw, but he lacked something to make him live up to all of that potential. Maybe it was toughness, drive, health, or luck But, he definitely lacked it. I don't hate him like a lot of people on the board do, but it is time for a change. Best of luck to him.
Tracy McGrady's peak moment as a Rocket was that gamewinner vs Dallas in game 2 of the 04-05 playoff series. He was great that year and that was his peak moment before it all started going downhill after they lost the next game and later on, the series.
