Knowing Houston's luck in sports, this will happen. AT LEAST PLAY THE GUY! Right now what is he really worth? Eddy curry? There is always that chance that he plays for us for a few games, gets a trip-dub one or two times, shows a flash...and we get a steal.
Maybe a little premature, but nice thread. He carried us the first few years he was here. Unfortunately for Mcgrady, Rick Adelman and Daryl Morey came along.
Yeah, and hello better role players in Brooks, Scola, Landry, and Lowry. Those 4 guys made a big difference.
No doubt and will continue to make a difference going forward, no need to take touches away from them as they develop, right? DD
Yes! Exactly. Now to answer the OP question. My fondest memory of the guy has not happened yet. That will be when he is traded and I watch him on ESPN in his street clothes on some OTHER teams bench.
It would be awesome to finally get rid of T-Mac. When he is healthy, he is arguably a top 5 player in the NBA. The problem is, how many games out of each season is he actually healthy? As a Rockets fan, I will gladly show him the door and welcome in someone who may produce less, but can produce consistently throughout the entire season. While I would love to see Yao go as well, I can put up with his injuries due to his great work ethic, media personality, and the fact that he brings in a cash flow other teams cannot get in these hard economic times.
Me too. I will be glad when these T-Mac only fans GTFO. They and the YOF have been nothing but nuisances.
There's plenty of touches available even with t-mac on the team if he is willing to blend in to the offense. There was plenty of touches for Cassell and Horry...and guys like Elie and Smith when you had Hakeem and Clyde. T-mac is a willing passer...he doesn't have to create as much. You can have T-mac and brooks play off each other to create double penetration threats. Coaches can be imaginative.
move along folks... Hes pocketed too much cash for doing practically nothing in 5 years. Highest paid player in the league this year, its a shame.
I doubt it's over. I'm not celebrating until he's officially off the roster. But he isn't willing. Wasn't last year, sure won't be now that the team is running (he's allergic) and daddy wants a big contract. Not based on last year he isn't. One of the first ever black holes to play on the perimeter. No one creates offense when they refuse to play anywhere near the paint.
By that r****ded logic, the Rockets only took the Lake show to 7 games b/c Yao got hurt. As if he had not been hurt we wouldn't have had a worse chance to win.
Saying we are trying to Trade TMac is like saying water is wet. We have known this for ever but they are not going to trade him b/c DM thinks the Rox should get a Gasol trade for Tmacs contract which I think only the Lakers are that lucky. They may not play him but they cannot trade him. So it is far from over.
The most talented player too ever play the game possibly. Sad he never reached his full potential, but damn he was fun to watch. I think most people on here can say they enjoyed watching the guy play, excluding the last season. Im just very curious about how he looks right now.
