At least at the end he was classy: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...ug=aw-mcgradytrade1228089&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
In the end, McGrady is a special talent that just didn't realize his potential due to a number of external (injuries, playoff seeding luck) and internal (work ethic, attitude) factors. When he was healthy, he was a joy to watch on the court. He had some definite moments as a Rocket, and I'm glad we had Tracy McGrady in Rockets red for the time we did. All things must come to an end however, and I'll mostly remember the good times (ridiculous highlights, 13 in 33, the 22 win streak, etc, etc). All the best Tracy, and good luck wherever you land! Know that you were appreciated and loved in Houston! PS: Don't make it your mission to torch the Rockets when you get healthy...
Says a lot about McGrady and his abilities. Now, McGrady apologists for 11 years of failure in 3, 2, 1 ...
I thought Tmac did really well when he was here. Lots of great memories...unfortunately luck, health, and intense desire were not on his side...I don't feel bad for him though, the dude is set. He doesn't have to worry about anything for the rest of his life, except how to spend his money. On a side note...I thought it was fate how he was hurt the one time his team made it to the second round. Coincidence? I think not...
Indeed, he could have prevented us from acquiring a heartless superstar and extending him six more years. Morey would have looked at him and said, "Vince Carter is precedent enough for me. No thank you."
I personally believe that everything happens for a reason for better or worse. We cant really blame Mac but at the same time we cant blame the Organization. Mac saw the rockets as a team he could deliver with, a winning team already there with yao, Mac knew this was Yaos team as soon as he stepped down in Houston. Sure he broke some of his promises, but arent promises meant to be broken. The organization saw T as a robin to batman(yao). tmac came into the rockets being a scoring champ, a two time that is. Tmac had the resume that fit the $ and no one and i mean NO ONE doubted he wasnt worth the $. now... we sit here and throw tmac under the bus just like everyone is doing cuz i mean its the right thing to do....... right? i mean i myself have hated on T, but T if for some reason you get on CF.NET just to see how much **** everyone.. well mostly everyone and happen to see this is Thanks for trying T, youll never be forgotten even if we try to you brought that electric feeling in the air that is still lingering around.
What five years? Go check out what he DID FOR THIS TEAM! Just remember the times when winning a game without TMac was impossible. But it's time for new page and I agree with most people, it's time to move on.
We just didn't have the talent when we needed it ( mavs series up 2-0) if we had a supporting cast as good as we do now, I have no doubts we would compete with the elite. Oh well too little too late! Hopefully tmac gets us some nice pieces to build with.
