its kinda hard to do that when 4 out of 5 defensive players are waiting for you in the driving lanes...

    very reasonable post.

i was disappointed in tmac not stepping up big in the last 2 big games. but we'll see how he responds.

but all the unreasonable tmac hate is pathetic.

Hi AntiSonic, I always try to be respectful to the members who registered before 2002 because they are most likely true Rockets fans. But your posts after last night's game are really getting on my nerve now. Seriously, what's your problem with Tmac? It seems to me you have something personal against Tmac that you have been relentlessly bashing him in the last 15 hours. Can you tell us more about it?

Is a "Is this team better without Yao" thread better than this one? No, not really. They're all open for discussion and as long as the thread stays on topic (or close to it) there usually isn't an issue.

IMO, the OP took T-Mac's comment out of context...way out of context. I also think people are quick to jump on T-Mac for past comments he's made. He deserves it to some extent though. That said, I think the discussion should gravitate towards T-Mac's wilting in the two biggest games of the year and not toward him stating the obvious in that his teammates need to hit open shots.

Every game is the biggest game of the year with a playoff race this close. Everyone keeps saying this so and so will be the biggest game of the year blah blah blah for about a month or so now. The biggest game of the year is playoff basketball imo.

Save your time RocketsPimp. You are wasting your time to try to reason with a hater who has used different names like Superstar, jonhty, etc. If you will spend some time to read his past posts, you'd find out that this fool lives to diss a Houston Rockets player called Yao Ming on the internet. His life revolves around sleeping and coming online to wait for the right moments to b**** about this Houston Rockets player. He is a sad story.

I think the saying it typically meant (if not specified) "The biggest game of the year thusfar."

These games we are playing right now, are very important for playoff positioning and homecourt. You know how close the West is. If the team doesn't approach each game in that manner, they can easily find themselves on the outside [of the playoffs] looking in.

Hmm I took them as beating these team somehow validates us as "real" cotenders. Like Hornets, then Lakers, then Celtics.

Because you took a statement from the middle of the Lakers game and combined it with another one after the Celts game and made it look like one statement. Highly misleading.

All of which begs the question of what would JVG had done with a competent GM getting him players. How they let Thibodeau get away is beyond me. Look I have been as hard on TMac as anyone especially for his failure to come up big when needed. But last night I though I was watching the Alamo all over again. The defense on TMac was absolutely brutal - he was totally shutdown with double & triple teams and they still managed to clog the lane. That was vintage JVG defense out there and all of those folks who stupidly believe that Van Gundy is an inferior coach had best pay attention to what Boston does in the playoffs this year b ecause they are definitely reading from his defensive playbook. I can't wait to watch them dismantle the Mark Cubans tomorrow night.

i was reading the same blog by fran, and below is among the responses from bloggers.

Tmac tries to take too much credit for himself it's disgusting. Lets revisit the 22 game winning streak.

It started against a GS, a team that has beaten the Rockets easily over the last 2 years. Tmac didn't no play this game because of the flu. But it doesn't keep him from taking credit for the win.

    2/7 against Cleveland 8 pts
    2/9 against Atl 15 pts (5 for 14 shooting)
    2/11 Portland 12 pts
    2/13 Sac 10 pts
    2/19 Clev 17 pts
    2/26 Wash 11 pts
    3/16 LA 11 pts

Yet Tracy likes to take all the credit when for long stretches he plan played terrible or not at all.

i don't really applaud his comments towards mcgrady, but mcgrady's numbers showed in his entry, if true, tell me the streak was more of a true team effort (as opposed to "mcgrady led all the way" that some have tried to claim).

Slow down pardna. The games during the streak had meaning in that they propelled us from 10th to 1st, but they were single stepping stones, some more important than others. The game against the Lakers for first place and the game against the Celtics, arguably the best team in the league this year, were by far the biggest games of the season to date. Let's make the playoffs first, then we definitely bill those as the biggest of the season.

I'm going to say this and let it go. Just like when I criticize yao, its not about the points. I watch the games and if the scoring is off, did the player do something else to help the team. Yao doesn't have to score 30 or even 20 for me to say if he had good or bad game. Yao can have a 10 pts 12 rebs 5 blk game and that's good for me. When I look at tracy against the celts, there were times when he should have forced the ball, but if the team has been winning without u forcing, why do it now? He did have 8rebs and 7asst. Would posters feel any better if he was 8 - 32 for 20pts? I guess when ur shot isn't falling, u should keep shooting. Then people would call him T-chucker

Are you ****ing kidding me with this thread?

This team just won 22 to games in a row. Think about it. 22 straight. Led solely by T-mac for the last few weeks. He played 48 minutes twice within a few days. He was obviously tired. He's been tired since about wednesday of last week. He told the truth, he's ****ing tired. And it's not because of conditioning, or lack of heart. If anything, it's Adelman's fault for playing him so many minutes (though you can't really blame him for that either).

For those of you saying he didn't step up the last 2 games. He did in the Lakers game, despite being tired. We would not have won that game without his 4th quarter scoring. As for the Celtics. That was honestly the best defense I have ever seen. They know what they're doing. They are the best team in the league. I wasn't a believer in Boston untill last night. With that defense, they can beat any western conference team in the finals. If they don't win it all this year, they will in the next 3.

I mean, come on. I was upset that the streak ended too, and that the TEAM as a whole played poorly. But it was bound to happen sometime. I'd rather it come against the best team in the league, than a team like the Spurs, Mavericks, Lakers, or some lottery team.

Just sit back and enjoy the history that has been made, and see if the Rockets can bounce back before you give up on them. There is no need for all this hate after what this team has been through and accomplished. Don't be so ****ing pessimistic.

KG would be scared. Next day's headline would probably be " Hakeem drops 5x5 on KG, KG cries “

Honestly i feel T-mac is hurt or has a slight injury... you can tell he's not moving the way he usually does

But... the Celts just played great defense last night we got beat at our own game...

Also the team was a little soft last night... when KG went in for that dunk i would have fouled the dog ***** out of him as it was unnecessary for him to be in the game when they were already up by 20.

You know, I've been wondering that lately ever since it looks like he's dead tired. I really hope nothing is seriously wrong.
