I'll say one thing that some people don't seem to get in this thread. Shot selection and fg% don't always coincide. Kobe Bryant really has a very poor shot selection, even with all the help he has around him but he makes alot of bad shots. He's just a great shooter.

On the flip side of that, tmac (especially since around the middle of this season) misses alot of good shots. Also, as a star perimeter player and the focal point of the opposing team's defense its almost impossible to get a more than a few truly good shots.

I like tmac mostly making plays instead of taking all of the shots. Because of this shooting slump, it is his strong point.

that's why i was trying to say but people don't get. EVERY STAR takes bad shots. but they are good shots to them b/c they are confident in themselves.

i mean, melo took some ridiculous shots today even when he was ice cold but i'm sure if you asked him, he said those are good shots. same with some kobe's 3s tonight.

tmac takes shots he has always taken in his career. right now, his jumper is just not falling at the 44% rate that he likes. what makes it worse is his ft shooting is atrocious. hopefully he'll work on that HARD this offseason. shooting is all about technique and rhythm. he seems to alter his ft shooting technique too much and his shot seems flatter than normal.

I'll assume that you're referring to his 3 pt attempts since his 2 pt attempts are usually good shots.

What you need to realize about kobe is that he is a good 3 pt shooter and has a quick release. he doesnt need that much space to get a good, clean look. that being said, he does sometimes take bad shots, but not as many as you think.

also, you cant judge him by tmac's standards. a bad shot for tmac may not necessarily be a bad shot for kobe.

The glaring weakness in this strategy is that it relies too much on our weak role players. If they arent hitting their shots and tmac is in a slump, he will still defer to them. and we'll lose.

Huh? I was referring to all of his shots. I consider a bad shot a shot that you get bad spacing on and jack up in someone's face. He and tmac do that quite a bit. Tmac on the other hand doesn't make as many (especially recently) so people get frustrated. Tmac is also a much better playmaker so he tends to make the right pass, to the more open teammate to take a much better shot. We do lose when everyone shoots bad but we honestly have a better chance of winning with him playing like this.

He's been like this his whole career but recently there's been a bad mix of him shooting poorly and having bad offensive players around him. Those factors make him look bad.
