once again, tmac and the team are at odds. he might just very well be traded soon. if it does happen, please do it before the season b/c the team doesn't need anymore distractions.

Take your time T-Mac. I'd rather he be back past his due date, then come back before he is ready.

If I recall, Grant Hill came back early to please the fans...and look what he is now. Give T-Mac some credit for not retiring, if you hate how he played last season imagine how he must feel. He knows he went from what Kobe is to what a joke he had become...whether he has that competitive fire to care is not in question...he is a human and realizing you are not what you once were is disheartening no matter the person.

I'm not a doctor, so bear with my 'commonpeople' terms.
Amare S. had a very serious operation on his knee.
I 'BELIEVE' they had to remove much more loose cartilage.
Tracy's case of 'loose cartilage' was much smaller. He almost didn't need micro fracture surgery. This is why Houston doctors never went that direction. They thought he didn't even need it. The doctors in Chicago/New York (?) decided to go ahead and go through with it for the long run.

Understand? Lol. Hopefully that made sense.

Exactly. If the team just doesnt want him than just trade him. the guy needs to play.

If this is their concern, why would they wait until Nov 23 to get the MRI done? They should see if there's a structural problem with the knee right now.

Agree wholehartedly. Hopefully the team just wants to make sure Tracy will have the ability to play most of the season and are being cautious with him coming off of microfractive surgery. Who knows.

EXACTLY. Thank you durvasa for writing it, it is right on the money.

They haven't seen him play, they pretty much know jst a little bit and why can't they make it now? They'll do it 2 months later and say he is not even close.

Since Yao is out They DON'T CARE about him. The don't want him back. He will have to be traded.

No credit from me. why would he retire? he's the highest paid player in the league this year. I would give him credit if he DID retire and walk away from 23 mil.

exactly. the report by feign doesn't even make sense. why can't they do an MRI now and report it. if there REMAINS any structural problems, then it's a legit concern to hold him out until the 23rd.

but from his videos, tracy stays close with the doctor who performed his surgery and the doctor claimed (on video) EVERYTHING is fine (that was like more than a month ago).

so why not LET HIM PRACTICE, see how he does, and what else he still struggles in, and then go on from there?

so what i can read from this situation is that the team is looking to gel WITHOUT HIM, and possibly try to deal him before he can put on the uniform. if that's the case, we need to deal him before the season starts b/c like i said, we do not want any distractions going into the season.

They're releasing this news on Media Day? The Rockets should wait till he gets on the court for training camp and see how he fares in all out basketball and conditioning drills before they make an announcement like this. This announcement is just based on a timetable set a few months ago without even evaluating Tracy's readiness on the court.

Are the Rockets trying to get back some of the money they spent on the draft picks?

    Just unbelivable.

    - They wait 2 months to perform an MRI to see if he is READY to PRACTICE

    - The probably haven't seen him in practice and yet the decide to shut him down.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

Rick Adelman: "If Tracy McGrady is healthy and can play, he's going to make my life a lot easier."

A quote to remember for those who think Adelman would rather not have McGrady on the court because he ruins the "Adelman offense".

Ok that was great but why then they decide to shut him down for 2 MONTHS and do MRI insted of doing it now??

Are those reports true? Are they confiirmed? It is just unbelivable.

These reports will not be true. T-Mac will BE back at the latest by the first regular season game. They are just trying to be cautious but McGrady will be back around the first game. He will somehow manage to get over this.

You could be right, this is the first chance they have had to really examine him.

Maybe they want him to try and pick up the tempo in his training and see how it effects his knee.

From all the videos from skillzlab I never saw him once really exploding in full force for a dunk , he is not even really jumping on his jumpshot , it's almost a set shot.

Microfacture surgery's are tricky , I am in favour taking extra precaution , Arenas came back too early and had to shutdown a season , Amare came back early and had to shut down a season.

Only when they know for sure he iss 200% not 100% and can do everything day after day he should be back.

They may be trying to push him even more to get the knee stronger, who knows.... But I believe he will eventually come back by the first game.
