the doctor said his knee is still very sore. so even if he played, it would be very limited and you'll see him like he has.

i think he'll use practice/rehab right now to regain the strength. but with rest instead of the grind of an NBA game, the soreness won't be as bad and thus the knee will regain strength quicker.

but i also don't disagree that he's also looking out for his own future. he knows this is the best talent team-wise and he's not gonna jeopardize missing games later for a few games now. this season is too important for him.

as long as we don't play the lakers, and i'm sure we'll be higher than the 8th seed, we're fine. we play better on the road anyways.

the only problem I have is the claims that the doctors say he needs to play

or artest should step up. and we have brooks, landry... to play well. artest is the one hurting us.

yao is playing fine. we don't need him to shoulder more than he should; he's still not fully back yet.

For him, the next season is much more important! That will be the last contract for him! Championship is important for him, but Money is probably more important for him!

This is why we brought in Artest, so we could ease the blow of this hit. He had a month to get his feet wet. It hasn't looked good. It's time to stop treading water and get **** moving. Fortunately the schedule lightens up a bit.

Artest, it's time to get gangsta on the shooting percentages.

it almost seems like the repeated "just play it into shape" recommendations are annoying him, like "look, I can't play well, why aren't y'all listening to me." He seems annoyed that he's developed this reputation, justly or unjustly, to not care. Compare this to Yao's reputation to arguably cause his own injuries out of misguided dedication to team and nation, leaving people to beg him to play less.

So the situation has turned into the recommendations pushing him into a corner. Many people overreact to that, when they feel people don't believe them.

Who wants to bet me that he'll return sooner.

dude he's made millions. what is the single question that dogs him every single year when the playoff rolls around?

if he just cared about money, he wouldn't try to be a star and just be a decent bench warmer like mark madsen making $4-5 mil a year and do jack.

the only thing that's driving him in his career right now: playoff success.

he's not gonna risk being not as healthy when march/april comes around. like he said in an interview with SAS, this season is THE defining season of his career b/c it's the best talent he's had.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Especially if he sees the team might struggle.

The guy cares. I do understand where people come from when they say he doesn't. but all you really have to do it watch him. He does care. He cheers on or off the floor. He gets pumped. He gets upset. He cries. He envies guys that were in his situation (KG). He plays hurt.

As far as money goes...he has plenty. Of course one can never have enough, but I honestly think he would put winning above money right now since he's filthy rich.

I'm gonna throw this out there: I think Tracy might be concerned about his scoring average. Instead of playing on a limited basis to strengthen his knee as all the doctors recommend, he wants to sit out because he doesn't want his stats to dip way down. He can't stand the thought of averaging 12-15 points/game over a season because it would hurt his reputation and stature. Better to play in 40-50 games averaging 20+ points than to mix in another 30-40 games at 10 points/game (maybe less) when he doesn't feel well.

I expect a lot of flak for daring to suggest this. But this is Tracy McGrady we're talking about. The guy who admitted he wanted to lead the league in scoring when the Magic were bad because it would help his career.

Knee injury to sideline McGrady for three weeks

    Associated Press

    Updated: December 2, 2008, 2:29 PM ET

HOUSTON -- Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady says he'll miss three weeks to rehabilitate his sore left knee.

McGrady has missed Houston's last three games after starting the first 15. He had arthroscopic surgery in May and admitted he came back a little bit too soon.

McGrady is Houston's second-leading scorer, averaging 15.6 points this season.

McGrady visited with orthopedist James Andrews on Monday. The team said Andrews confirmed the initial medical assessment by team doctor Tom Clanton that McGrady is suffering from general soreness in the knee.

Nobody thinks himself or herself has too much money!!!

If he can earn 20 millions, why would he feel that 3-4 millions are enough for him?

We won 22 straight and nobody expected it. I think this team has the same capability. The one concern and will always be a concern is Rafer and his shooting/shot selection.

It's not on Yao, it's on Rafer to improve and score while shooting a higher perecentage.

SheMac, Tgirl, Estrogen Queen.... get well soon, hopefully you will come back feeling and playing better.

Last season was a miracle! Miracle is called 'miracle' because it cannot be repeated!
