Ok guys...perspective, please. Tmac is a guy that has to talk about everything. He doesn't keep a good poker face... he is unabashedly honest despite it making him seem weak. It is also why we (when we don't hate on him) root for him so much. So here is the deal...we hate when he says "it's on me" or "I impose my will"... but that is when he believes in himself. That is what we need. When he made these comments (15 in 35 and Utah series) he was phenomenal. It's not just arrogance or cockiness... it is a necessary means to both Tmac's success and failure. When he predicted victory over the Pistons, everyone laughed when he failed to deliver. Truth is...he was a beast. The Pistons were just better. That self-confidence and belief that that series was "over" allowed him to average over 30 a game against doubles committed by an elite Piston's defense. Long story short... when he says "I am hurt," he can't play. That is it, plain and simple. That is how he is programed. So take heart Rocketland, three weeks will not be too bad. We play the- Clippers, Warriors, Grizzlies, Hawks, GS again, Clippers again, Nuggets, Sac, Min, NJ, and possibly Cle. Those are all win-able games with or without Tmac. Artest and Yao will continue to improve and warm up to each others' games, and Battier will continue his recovery and support. All in all, we need to have faith in Tmac, because he feeds off of that, and that is the only way he can keep faith in himself.

Tmac is not about proving haters wrong, he is about proving supporters right.

Now take this quote from Tmac today and I dare you not to smile at the potential of this team come New Year.

“I’m fortunate enough that I will be able to overcome this,” he said. “I don’t have to worry about losing any of my quickness, my explosiveness. I should be ready to go by the end of this month."

Yeah because it is just that easy to build a team. This isn't a video game it doesn't work that way, but by your logic we could do that when Yao and a lot of other Rockets players to make the team better.

This team is talented enough to make noise in the playoffs it's just we have a bad history of guys getting hurt. For example Yao going down last year.

It's tough to tell, I like what Battier brings but it is scary to know what Gay would of brought. We also don't know how Gay would do in that situation because maybe he would play behind T-mac and maybe he would play beside T-mac.

I don't think the Rockets would of traded Roy for Battier though.

Yao makes Les richer! He doesn't owe anyone.

Once again, I admire your stong nerve! I think it is not a easy thing to be a hardcore Tmac fan.

Yao will be next, by March Yao will be on that injured list mark my words. And why they continue not to seek a sufficient back up Center to play 15 minutes a game for Yao is beyond me. Better starting PG and back up C is all this team really needs at this point. Oh ya and maybe some freakin good fortune for our unhealthy players.

swapping gay for battier would give this team major identity crisis. We'd go from being an elite defensive team and a half court offensive team, to a team with a bunch of scorers

As Adelman said, first, we need to make playoffs.

It never seems to end... well, maybe this will gel the rest of the team -- we ran off 22 straight without a star last year.

    It's frustrating though.

I think they say Deke will be on this team at some point. I still don't get that whole situation though.

i'm actually glad t-mac is taking an extended rest at the beginning of the season. with him out, it will allow time for guys like rafer, battier, brooks and especially ron artest to get a nice rhythm and be able to step up when t-mac comes back. same thing happened last year. t-mac will come back stronger, the rest of the guys will be improved, and the team will be better for it.

That is why I don't complain about the trade because it is pointless and I don't know how it would of worked out. I appreciate Battier for what he does. Like I said earlier this team problem is due mostly to health and PG play which is something Gay wouldn't effect.

100% correct. T-mac knows he cannot give 100% the way his knee feels and beleive it hurts the team. I see it that way aswell.
I was prepared for T-Mac to take time off early, as I knew he is not healthy enough to play 82 games. This is why we got Artest and he has failed to deliver.

i have no problem with battier i just would have asked for miller also....because if we remember gay was suppose to be a top 3 pick that year he just fell....me personally i like him over roy. he is still getting better and his defense is better than what people think

you're so biased it's unbelievable...how about we used yao's 18 mil last season to sign someone? could we minus yao win more games last year, get a higher seed and avoid first round exit all together?

Somehow I can't play this audio clip on my computer, so, what did the coach say?
