It could certainly be more than 3 weeks but I'm quite sure he will be rehabbing during this period. Let's hope for the best, although I'm not optimistic.

You guys sure sounds overly depressed over what is projected as 10 or so games he'll be missing. Do I think he'll come back full strength? Honestly, no. He says he will. I guess we'll see.

He's playing horrible and still the 2nd top scorer on our team. That should be the worry. Tracy is a + when he's on the court like it or not. If the team has to carry him right now, then so be it. He's carried them enough and we have't gone any further since he's been doing so.

Let's just see how this all plays out.

that's just utter stupidity making that claim. yao has never carried us for an entire season yet and tracy took 10-12 games off the past few years and that's "over-work"?

i'm as frustrated as anybody right now about tracy, but your claims are absurd.

if you get over-worked for carrying a team 10-15 games a season, i don't know what to say.

guess playing for the chinese team EVERY year and not having rest in the offseason had nothing to do with it right?

I understand why you say that you shouldnt place high expectations on a tracy mcgrady team, but your comment about Roy and Gay is premature IMO. Until either of those guys even makes the playoffs, how have they proven to be more valuable than Mcgrady. Mcgrady has proven that he can elevate his game against tough competition in the playoffs, his TEAM just got beat. The one year he actually had a legit team around him, he loses his running mate for the season. Mcgrady can do it on the road, with the game on the line, facing double teams, you name it....Gay and Roy haven't proven that they can do that consistantly.

Lets just let this happen, and we can judge him at the end of the season. You yourself mentioned it. He reached MVP level status when he was healthy last year. Why cant he reach that level again this year?

That Tmac we saw last year, that i know still exists, is a better scorer/decision maker than Roy and Gay and its not even close. He's also a better rebounder and defender.

As frustrated as it is to see him perform way below his potential, its hard to doubt him when every year he plays his best ball when the team needs it. He can not sustain that energy throughout a whole season like Roy and Gay can. This is like what, his 13th year in the league? But if you asked me who I'd want to roll with in the playoffs, I'll take Mcgrady. He brings more to the table than those two guys. He may not be able to explode by his man as quickly as they can, but he understands how to run an offense better and thats what wins games.

I don't think Tmac is qualified to make a comparison with Yao right now!

do people have the rockets' best interest at heart? why would you trade a guy who has an expiring contract in the year of the biggest free agent market to date with a phlethora of potential superstars? that's the MAIN thing people tend to miss. as an organization, it wants us to stay competitive. if tracy is EVER healthy (and the indications are he would with what he has said and the confidence he said it), we're a championship contender for the next 2 years. if we don't win, let him go and sign another superstar and we stay on the contender course. there's nobody right now that we can trade that can make us more competitive than if tracy is healthy come playoff time.

secondly, tracy routinely misses 10-15 games, not half a season, not 3/4 of a season, not a full season. sure we would all love for him to play every game, but it's unrealistic at this point considering his fragility. he's just fragile.

thirdly, tracy said he'll be ready to go by the end of the month and his quickness/explosiveness should be back. if it's not really back, then yea, we might put a fork on it. but he seems extremely confident in how he said it (and tracy's never an optimistic individual) should really want him to take his time if he's going to come back near full strength.

look at the end of the day, we're all rockets fans. we want the rockets to win. it may hard to support tracy right now, but we need to sit back and understand that when the stretch drive heats up, tracy's our most dependable and explosive player. we still go as he goes.

if we still go nowhere, his expiring contract in 2010 is as valuable as his contributions will be in the next 2 years.

    I agree with this statement

Clutch has spoken we should all just agree.

T-mac needs to stand up after he comes back.

I definitely understand what people are feeling. It's frustrating to deal with the injury bug over and over again. T-Mac out now, Yao's probably going to be out later, and who knows what will hit Artest, Battier, etc. Is it time to look towards next season again? Hopefully we can at least do something in the playoffs. Rooting for this team can be quite difficult.

But I'll never, ever give up on this team. If I'm on my deathbed from some incurable disease, and I have less than 1 hour to live, and the Rockets are playing, well, damnit, death is friggin' waiting until I at least get through the 4th quarter to the buzzer. (then again, if it were the Pacers game, I don't think I could go to my final resting place knowing that we got beat on a tip-in). With Hurricane Ike and Mumbai and the Recession and WalMart Employee Trampled To Death and Darfur and everything else going on, thank the Lord that mid-season injuries are at the bottom of the priority list.

I would hate to see how this board would react if Grant Hill was in Houston instead of Orlando during his ankle situation where he kept missing the whole season.

TMac's menstrual cycle runs from December to mid January and he doesn't get PMS until the playoffs. Its a once a year occurance we should all be immune to this but we're not because we want to actually win games. If there is even any positive to this situation its that our bench players will get some playing time and will be ready for the playoffs.

Losing Mcgrady made Yao better in 05, it made rafer better last year, and its going to make artest better this year.

i understand your frustration clutch. and we all are frustrated. but it is what it is for the next 2 years b/c tracy will be here.

but to your point about a vince carter-like resurgence, he'll do it when he gets back with THIS team.

i don't think he can let this opportunity with this much talent on this team go away that easy. sure it's frustrating, but i'd rather him be out this early than late.

my only problem that i have had with tmac is the fact he can not deal with his off the court issues.....with him not being able to deal with his off the court issues it affects him on the court......the year his back spasms kept him out for just about if not more than half the season....the problem wasn't just his back that was the same year and about the same time that the woman out of florida came with here is your baby....Think about it has his back given him problems like that year since then???? And do not give me the crap about the witch doctor....

Well now here we are go again tracy is now having off the court issues again and here he is about to sit out for a while....Tmac problem is he is not strong enough mentally, the pain he has in his knee is there but if a number of doctors are telling you to just play through it and that it will get better than do it....Right now the knee is a way off the court so he can deal with the **** he has going on right now in his life.....

Not trying to compare him to Kobe or anything but when Kobe had issues with the rape case it was like he would just step on the court and take it out on the opponents he we was playing that night.....but different strokes for different folks...

I don't want to see Tracy traded but from a fans stand point I can see why they would want him traded......But since I once played the game before I understand what Tracy brings to the floor and that is really hard to find...we all need to one last time just stand behind him with this and hope he is ready to play and give it a 100% because I really feel this team is going to be special as long as we go into the playoffs healthy.....I think this is our year to walk in healthy, I hope the basketball Gods are with me on this....

Off subject fellas but i found one link today saying that a Head for Sean Williams is being talked about...I will put link in random trade thread
