Once again we have people doubting a players heart or passion when the guy is injured, not hurt. Injured, you can't play. Hurt u can, but there are problems. Playing wing in the nba on one leg isn't the solution. I mean the 2/3 is the most atheletic players in the league, but he should play through it? It has nothing to do with passion, hart, or money and everything with health.Artest was brought in to soften the blow from Yao or Tracy missing 10-11 games during the season. If Artest starts playing better and Battier plays his role and maybe steps a little for a change, they'll be ok. If everyone talks about how deep the team is or how good Yao is, then if duncan can do it with nobody, then this group should be able to be ok as is.

Unless Feigen completely fabricated what he claimed McGrady told him...

Confirmed: "GENERAL SORENESS"??? In other words, the doctor confirmed there is nothing wrong with T-Mac's knee except it makes him say "Owie!"

Maybe. But you have to admit that these injury bugs are getting very tiresome, and if I may quote Apollo, "RIDICULOUS". Some of us old timers do see the bigger picture and do have all the patience in the world, but year after year of injuries can break a few very patient backs.

once again you have to question how people can call someone soft if they want a guy to play one and a half leg on the perimeter of the NBA. 99% of you couldn't even play ball if you had his knee so really i wouldn't talk about being soft.

Well half the people on here couldn't play ball with two good knees.

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't see it the first time. That article was updated, I could see it from the title changing, not sure if the May 6 date was there before.

As for TMac's knee condition, what makes you or anyone else here to say that? Are you the expert, or someone close to him?

Well, it now comes down to sharing the load among the rest of the players. That should be "everyone" and not only the few big names like Yao, Artest, etc. If everyone plays with a heart, losing Tmac (temporary) may not be that big a deal.

i kind of expected t-mac to miss more than 1 week.

there's nothing wrong, except he needs to work consistently on it, which he obviously didn't do.

would a player like kobe be hobbled by an injury like this? he'd probably be at full strength by the start of the year while t-mac is struggling to get right months into the season.

In my opinion, you can't deal with absolutes with T-Mac (and for that matter, the Rockets). If you say he sucks/they suck, they'll make you look bad. If you say they're championship-bound, they'll make you look bad. Lose by 30 to the Lakers, kill the Suns, etc. etc.

Last year, T-Mac was pulling this noise and all the criticism seemed justified... then he got it together (especially when Yao went out) and suddenly you could make a case for him as MVP. Then he had a finishing kick to the season that made him look completely and totally washed up.

It would seem to be to be mostly mental with T-Mac. I'm not saying he's going to be traded, but he looks so poised for a Vince Carter-type situation ... looks like he's in a severe physical decline, then he gets dealt and just explodes back on the scene. I could really see him doing that.

Fans can't help but feel trapped watching this guy on their team... really. I remember being asked about the Chauncey Billups rumor -- I said it was interesting but I wouldn't do it. Now I don't know what I was thinking. Not to get all Gay on you (as Carl Herrera would probably say), but how bad does the 2005 draft look right now? Forget Battier -- you couldn't get Brandon Roy or Rudy Gay for our best player, the one we were built around, at the time of that draft.

I don't care if they added Wilt Chamberlain and Dr. J in their primes... I would never, ever place high expectations on a Tracy McGrady team again. It's a cliche but so applicable -- he needs to earn it.

Looking forward to watching the team try to find itself without T-Mac though.

I was never much of a Tmac guy, but some of the posts here are straight up absurd. He played almost the entirety of last season on a very real injury that required surgery. Now that he's feeling the effects of that surgery, people are going to call him soft? Are these the same people that thought he was faking injury last January? People here are talking like they'd rush to play on injured knees. Give me a break.

The thing most worries me is the team does not seem to play 100% against weaker teams. They usually get burned by playing half-heartedly against teams they should beat according to stats.

How sad is it that we are forced to lower our expectations because Tmac is on our team.

    Ugh.

    1. It's not like we did see this coming or that this feeling is new to us.

    2. This is why we got Ron Artest, to fill the void caused by injuries.

    3. Tmac wasn't that efficient or playing well anyways.

    4. Great opportunity for our others players to step up and rise to the occasion!
