i think chances are we will ride him to the end of his contract which is 2 more years after this one. or maybe in the last year of his contract someone may offer something (depends) since it will be expiring.

that's how bad they dislike tmac. when tmac was injured in the first half from the ankle, they said he needs to man up. anyone who has ever turned their ankle knows that it takes a while to get it loosen up. and what do you know? he moved better in the 2nd half b/c why? IT LOOSENED UP.

some people on here just think he should shake off any injury and play. and yet when another rocket is "slightly" injured, let them rest and come back healthy. it's unbelievable.

people say don't let them know you're in pain. yet kobe said he is in tremendous amount of pain every night when his finger injury was diagnosed. iverson blamed his broken finger for his first bad game after the injury was diagnosed. yet they're "warriors."

tmac is not the best. but c'mon, he's our best player and we need him to do well. can we just cheer on a guy who has been through so much this year and sacrificed a lot of his game?

i mean with the way the houston media has destroyed him this yr, he could easily have a backlash like other athletes would have? but he didn't. he has always been in an upbeat mood.

kobe has lost a lot of his athleticism too. look at when kobe dunks, his head is no longer as high as the rim. kobe uses his J a lot too. he just makes more (3% more).

jordan lost his athleticism. tmac's game used to depend a lot on athleticism. i think he needs to understand that and this summer, practice on his fts, practice on his jumpers.... that separates the greats from the athletic freaks.

i think tmac understands that now and will work on that this summer. EVERYBODY's athleticism declines as you go forward. compare the kobe of the young to now.

80% of the offense is run through Yao when he's healthy. Let's face it, Yao is basically the "inside" part of the inside-out game. To a large extent the Rockets' game plan boils down to 1) Dump the ball inside to Yao 2) Have Yao pass the ball back out to the open guy 3) Profit.

It absolutely is a coincidence. He got an infected toe because he didn't trim back an overgrown toenail correctly. Do you seriously think that has anything to do with his height? The other injury was a broken bone when somebody rolled into him.

One more time: this is the first year that Yao's gone out with a stress related injury, as compared to an injury that's comparable to falling off a ladder or getting a car door slammed on your leg.

not really, we go through a lot of stretches not even looking for yao and we do fine. it depends on certain teams. the offense still triggers from tmac, but not as much as under JVG. alston has more freedom to run his own plays, along with battier.

like when we played the blazers earlier, adelman opted to have yao sit the entire 4th. our offense works best if the offense operates from the high post and people move from that (and yao's weakness is from the high post). if you saw how tmac ran the high post offense v. the warriors, he looked like chris webber. i think that's what adelman envisioned when he took over. you'll see more of that as we go on.

posted in another thread but it applies here too...

I don’t think most people that are Criticizing mac want him traded...I know I don’t(at least not right now), we just want him to stop being a mentally weak basketball player. That means don’t tell us your to old, that you your contemplating retiring because you have personal problems, that your shoulder is sore, that your tired, that your teammates suck, that your true passion is baseball, that your back hurts, etc etc etc.... JUST NUT UP AND PLAY...and you dont have to tell us that ur nutting up either :p

again it's a trend. tmac's main injury is the back and he never had that over a year and a half. you can say his injuries this year are "freak" injuries also. who would imagine him bumping into lamar odom's and sprain his elbow? who would imagine him bumping knees and getting a bruise (a youngin' like landry got that).

the main fact is THEY BOTH GET INJURIES year after years for the past few yrs.

Yao and T-Mac's history with injury are not comparable. Ironically, it's the smaller guy who's had a much more serious history of stress injuries.

    Oh, for an edit button.

The big issue with T-Mac is his back and knees--the classic points where wear and tear starts to manifest.

As for bumping into other players, that's the norm. That's not exactly unusual in the NBA. Yao gets slapped black and blue banging down in the paint. How many stitches has Shane Battier picked up this year? What's worrisome is when the normal amount of physical contact starts to result in serious injuries.

Look, there's two kinds of injuries in the NBA. There's the kind where somebody lands wrong and twists his ankle and has to go out, like with Dirk Nowitzki. You don't really care about that stuff because the assumption is that once the healing process is completed Dirk will be back up to snuff. Nobody's going to seriously entertain ideas about trading Dirk because he twisted his ankle. That's what you don't seem to understand.

Cutting an ingrown toenail too short or whatever doesn't even rise to this standard. It's the equivalent of cutting your leg open when you're getting out of your car and missing games because of the stitches.

By contrast there are injuries which are much more worrisome because they're symptomatic of the body breaking down. Back spasms are a prime example. Like it or not, while T-Mac's been plagued with these sorts of injuries for a few years now this is the first year that Yao's been hit with something that falls into this second category.

Damn pansy T-Mac! I can't believe you didn't get one more assist for a triple double! I don't care if you had a shoulder and an ankle injury! I don't care that you took over in the 4th when the team needed you the most. You couldn't get one more assist?? It makes me sick!

T-Mac just OWNED all the dumb ass haters in this thread.

    Good day.

    Hmm...

[insert picture of OP getting owned here]

And again I ask what in his original quote led anyone to believe that he would not play tonight.

Your mind's eye sees what it wants to see, not always that which is there.
