So, how one must react to issues like deaths in the family and injuries is only related to how much money you make? If he was only making $1 million, would he get any leeway from warriors like yourself and DaDakota?

I don't know. . I've had people close to me pass and I was at work the
next day .. . why . . cause I had to be there.

Maybe I'm not as emotional/sensative as most
    but their is an expectation.

I'm not overly concerned about TMac now. . . Yao will lead us to the
playoffs. . but it will be VITAL that TMac show up then

    So let him greive
    Let him heal. . . .
cause i know it is not easy and he is human

Since Yao is playing well it is not effecting us too much

So, what does his max contract have to do with it?

If he had issues like no clothes and had to fly home to get some, despite his huge contract which would allow him to buy clothes in any city at any moment, that'd be OK with you? Even if he nearly missed a game and missed the morning shootaround?

I'm having a hard time understanding how some of you can root for the Rockets with the obvious disdain you have for our star player. I thought the same thing when Francis was here as well.

    He was there too.

Can we please get a set of rules that T-Mac, and other players, must abide by during times of grief and/or crisis? We know nearly missing a game by going home to get new clothes is OK. Not playing as well when you just lost your future mother in-law is not.

what's wrong with wanting a star player to perform? the guy is playing terribly. I will give you credit you are consistent but your homerism borders on childishness.

and this isn't a one game deal like the francis situation. I defended francis for a lot of things but I never defended his production under van gundy.

there is no crisis by the way so stop being melo dramatic. his baby moma's moma died. that's sad. its not a crisis.

It's not homerism. It's seeing someone going through a tough time for a legitimate reason (i.e., not missing clothes) and the team stepping up around him. He's playing badly and guys like Yao have stepped up their game to the tune of wins in 11 out of the last 14 games. Do I wish he was playing better? Absolutely. Am I going to judge him for not playing as well after losing someone extremely close to him and his fiancee? Absolutely not.

Yeah, good thing he's never skipped a team flight to go to the Super Bowl or refused to go back into the game.

I guess you're not very close with your mother in-law, not to mention the affect it has on his fiancee. If my wife lost her mother, I would find it terribly hard to focus 100% at work because a) I love my mother in-law and b) my wife would be terribly devastated.

I may have been wrong about francis, I was very dissappointed when he refused to go back in that game, but I have been on the money about mcgrady. regardless of the the excuses you guys want to make.

I don't care what's going on, this guy hasn't changed. Its not just recently. van gundy was questioning this team's effort early a couple of months ago and even though he didn't say it, he was directing that at mcgrady.

    RM95,

Don't you hold him accountable at all? Just because he is TMac does not give him a free pass to go out and play passionless basketball. How is it that he performs tons of acrobatic plays at the all-star game but now he is hurt ?

    Come on, get real !

If Tmac needs time off, take it...but don't bring a listless approach to the arena and lace up those sneakers, he owes the team a much more concentrated effort, and right now, he ain't delivering.

I will give you the point about him being distracted, that is certainly understandable, so take some time off.......if you lace em up, you are saying you are ready to play.

No excuses...and this guy is full of em.

    Yawn.

Too bad there's not a camera at your desks so we can judge how you all work when you lose someone in your life.

If Tmac needs time off to get healthy and get his head right then he should take it.

But thanks for speaking for me, I would never have been able to voice my thoughts on my own...whew, glad you got my back....NOT !

You two have nearly 28,000 posts between you. The way the two of you criticize McGrady, it's pretty obvious to most of us that he can do no right. I also doubt I'm the only one who thinks it's unfair to judge anyone on how they react to a personal tragedy.

It's easy to judge someone when you have no idea who they are. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt to these guys since I don't know them personally or through years of posting together on a website. Sure, it may be a tad hypocritical, but not really. I've seen the pattern of your posts. You don't like McGrady. DaDakota doesn't like McGrady. It's not that hard to make the assumption. To compare that to saying it's not fair to judge someone's reaction to a death in the family is absurd.

Missing shots, understandable. Hurt, understandable. Lack of effors, this is not what I usually see in Tmac. I agree with DD, if he needs time off, he needs to take it. His mind in not on the court as far as I can tell.
