Yao has him beat in that. Hakeem was humble to the media but not always humble to his coaches, management, or his teammates. That's not necessarily a bad thing. He wanted the ball, he made sure he got the ball. But I don't see Yao ever being like that. I can see him growing into the father figure for the team as he grows older and continues to mature and with a coach like JVG jamming everybody up that don't get him the ball, he won't need to be anything but total class inside the organization and to the public. Players will always want to play with him because of his unselfishness and a coach like JVG will make sure he gets his touches. I sure wish the season were starting. 1 hour and 16 minutes until Brent Barry's phone rings?
Rockets2k thanks for the vid. I missed the interview on SC. I do not doubt that rumor. Shaq appears like a cocky and tuff guy on the court, but off the court Shaq helps many players in this leauge and advises them. If you were to ask many young players who they turn to for advice (thats currently playing) many of them would tell you Shaq. I know Shaq said he doesnt give McGrady advice in the above quote, but think about it... Shaq was almost in the exact same situation McGrady was in (and even on the same team!) a few years ago. I dont doubt for a second T-Mac asked for his advice on this topic.
Oh, they're in the works.... It may take a while because there are no current Tmac images in a Rockets uniform, so it requires a lot of editing.
