Don't get too excited about an interview now, he's always seemed like a high character guy, still has to prove it on the court.

I just saw the interview and it was very positive, here's what i remembered.

-He was very happy it came through and had no doubt that it would happen.
-Will do whatever it take to win, and will follow JVG lead.
-Ask if him and Yao will be the next Kobe/Shaq. He said he's hoping and that they could be even better.
-His main purpose is to win a championship with Yao's help.
-He's sick and tired of people critizing his defense saying its hard to defend the best player while scoring 30-40 pts a night.

Great interview, shows a lot of promise and integrity in him. Lets hope he shows it on the court.

Francis talked about shootin less and passing more to yao in the low post in all the interviews last season... but yet he still jacked up more shots than anybody else on the team. I hope Tmac said what he means not just for the PR things....
Personally i still think yao need to shoot more than 20 shots per game to improve his skills and confident thus really make the rockets the REAL title contender....

With Francis, the issue was shot selection not shot volume. Francis actually shot too few times. When he did shoot, he often took poor shots or required 8 dribbles before he fired the ball.

To Francis' credit, Yao did shoot more shots per minute than any other Rocket, and he tried harder than anyone else to get Yao involved.

steve took 14 shots a game. FOURTEEN. name another allstar starter in the last decade or so who have taken fewer a game. dont blame steve for others not taking the shots. yao is my favorite player in the world, but its also time he steps up.

Liked the interview very much. He said the right things, but we wont know until he actually shows it.

What stood out most to me was how annoyed he seemed to be when he was asked about his defense and selfishness.

    YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!! :D :D :D :D

    Wooooooo!

Finally!! Ahhhhh... feels grand being a Rocket's fan afterall this...:)

For those of you who doubt T-mac's personality and integrity. Should really read Macbeth's post "About Mcgrady the player". Not only is it a good read, but it's right on the money. :)

As I said right after our post season exit, only now with a lot more enthusiasm and happiness.

    Ahem..

    T-mac! T-mac! T-mac! T-mac! T-mac! T-mac! T-mac! T-mac!! :D
