I agree with the Shaq statement, but what's up with the Lebron hate? I assume you mean that just because the kid has improved his game in the offseason (he got a half decent jump shot)and he undoubtably makes he teammates better he does not deserve it. The reason he doens't deserve it is because his team still stinks and they aren't really winners quite yet (though they have improved).

.......or are you just sick of LBJ hype (also understandable)?

Just wondering (I agree with you 100% though)

T-Mac will get consideration. But I don't think he'll even be Top 5:

    1.) Shaq
    2.) Nash
    3.) Dirk
    4.) LBJ/Wade
    5.) Reggie Miller

(I know I'm going to get flammed for that)

I agree, especially during the game against Denver. That's a national TV game and if we win, we will have beaten a contender. He will be noticed in two ways: the chants and the big win.

One more thing. Can somebody explain to me why Lebron James is a more worthy candidate than Tmac? Just because of all the early season hype and all the media attention? The Cavs have been a .350 team during the playoff stretch and there's a possibility they won't even be in the playoffs. T-Mac averaged 32.1points, 6.5rebs, 5.6 assists per game in 2002-2003 when the Magic got the seventh seed in the East and he came in fourth for MVP. He didn't have Ilgauskas, McInnis, Gooden. His best complimentary player was Darrell Freaking Armstrong. Singlehandedly he almost beat the Pistons averaging almost 40ppg during the 7 game series. Lebron will either miss the playoffs or be swept and he has two other all-star caliber players. If the Rockets would be in the East they would be second behind Miami, not stumblimg to make a playoff spot.

Check out these T-Mac plays during the Pistons series.

I meant that it is now or never for stepping up and getting the team to that playoff competitive level. I think a poor performance in the playoffs could set the Rockets back years. I believe it is now or never for a playoff run, but not necessarily for a championship.

No Lebron hate, i don't hate anyone, it is as simple as the fact that just because he is he new "savior" of the league doesn't mean he is an MVP. His team IS underachieving in the terrible East. There is a reason why their owner is firing their coach and GM, ya know? They are not doing well at all right now.

THAT is why I think Lebron doesn't deserve an MVP consideration. But guess what...because he is the new poster kid for the league, he will get at a least a couple of votes.

Again, let me reiterate, the NBA is a BUSINESS! They will hype whomever they want and will get the media to do their bidding for them. Lebron is one heck of a talent, but you need to win games to be an MVP. KG puts up nice numbers, but he ain't no MVP.

Shaq, Shaq, and then Shaq. That is the only MVP in the league this year. If Duncan was healthy all season long, he might have been another strong candidate.

I really think that Dirk should definitely get consideration, he is easily one of the top 5 players in the league this season.

If Jermaine O'Neal was healthy and the Pacers had all their players available, they would have been easily the best team in the East (yes, better than Miami and Detroit, they are THAT good), and O'Neal would have been a strong candidate for MVP.

So there are really a bunch of guys who deserve it on any given year, but simply put, Shaq is by far the most impactful player in the league this year.

I am not biased at all, I just think that Lebron is not top-5 player in the league today, top-10 yes.

I think the top candidates are Shaq, Nash, and Nowitzki. After that it doesn't really matter.

that's what I thought you'd say......to which I have no argument and agree completly.

...as for that poll on MSMBC.....why don't we run that in another forum, lets stuff the ballot for T-Mac (because Shaq got dropped off the ballot(which is ridiculous) and Amare is on the ballot (which is absurd.....he is not even a SUPERSTAR without IMHO)

I think Tmac wants playoff series win much more than MVP.

And he doesnt have to depend on a panel of voters to ensure that.:)
