He can give you your assists, but he's also going to routinely give you 6-20 and stuff just like McGrady. I really want this team to start getting efficient scorers.

This is one of the very few deals dumping McGrady that I would be very much against. I would rather we Marbury Tracy than bring in a ball-dominating, poor efficiency, coach-killing, chemistry-killer.

It's all about winning now.....do this deal!!!

Salary shouldn't even matter, can you imagine how much money the Celtics organization have made in the last 2 years? Championships will bring in more money.

DD+Yao would be pretty legit I think.

Exactly, people saying to wait until 2010 and beyond...YAO is 28, 2010 season he'll be 30. If Yao was 25 and under then yeah, but this team is at the stage where we need to try and win now. Whose to say Yao won't leave in 2010? Ain't nothing promised, Iverson left the Sixers, Kobe almost left the Lakers, Brand left the Clips, Garnett left the Wolves...

McGrady + Rafer for Davis + Camby.

This would actually save us a few million this season and the Clippers would get two players that aren't owed money after next season as well as a replacement PG in the interim. You could replace Alston with Brooks and the deal works, too. I'd do either deal but would prefer to move Alston.

I agree. I love watching Baron when he's playing great, but I really want no part of him on this team. His passing skills mean nothing to me, as I have no problem with Rafer's passing ability.

I think Baron would play better off of Yao, wide open looks are easier to hit than contested 3pters.

And that 3-1 assist to turnover ratio is pretty sweet.

God help us if he doesn't work out. A brutal contract for 4 more years?

Have to include Camby if we're going to tack on another 4 years of BDiddy's monster contract.

Include Camby, and I think the Rockets should do it.

Camby + Davis or no deal. Without Camby, it is way too rsiky to take in a high volume low percentage PG.

It is a risk, but sometimes you have to take Risk. If you never take Risk you become the Texans...until they took their first risk (drafting Mario over Bush/Young) and started to turn their ship around.

We're in this mess, and unless we want to wait 3-4 seasons, we have to take risk to get outta this mess.

Did anyone notice that Camby is averaging 11 points and 12 boards a night? That is f'n impressive.

    period.

although w/ yao playing a practically injury-free season thus far (KNOCKS ON WOOD), i feel slightly less urgency than just a few months ago... i'm torn on this trade (although not torn on moving on w/o mcgrady) though; BD has the same give-up attitude that tracy does and his contract aint pretty. part of me wants to hold out w/ tmac until next year and either deal him or let his contract expire but goddamnit i want to win NOW... i'm sick and tired of waiting for next year.

    so do it.

Actually, it's closer to 12 points and 13 rebounds per game. And don't forget the 2.5 blocks.

Agree with yall. I have a feeling Yao's body won't hold up too much longer. How many 7'6 guys were able to stay healthy after age 30? It may be time to lay it down and take a few chances. A lineup with Yao, Baron, and Artest would be our best shot at competing in the West.

You have got to be kidding me. BD is like Marbury but with less crazy pills...oh wait you're a starbury fanboy as well right?

Look, guards like AI, BD, Starbury and even Francis put great stats and are always in highlight reels but they never win anything. BD had a terrific cast in GS-he had captain jack and Monte Ellis as his wingmen and Al Harrington and Andris Biedrins as his big men. Yet despite that they didn't even make the playoffs last year. You can says its the coaching because Nelly is an awful coach, but then again BD seems incapable of playing in an ordered and structured system. BD in GS was the best BD you'll ever get, and unfortunately that's not nearly enough to justify his horrible contract and his cancer potential.

You have got to win while Yao is in his prime, but signing him will do nothing but put ourselves out of the 2010 free for all. A lot of big name stars are unhappy with their current teams-I'm sure Joe Johnson is itching to get back to a winning team. Why don't wait a year then go all out for guys like that, instead of making knee jerk reactions and getting subpar guys like BD and Marbury?
