Just asked Morey about this one on the show...he reiterated that McGrady is not a part of ANY deal right now, and hasn't been. Take it for what it's worth...

I could be wrong, bur can't a team waive/forego a physical on a incoming player if they so choose?

Depending on how bad they want to get rid of Baron, I know they wouldn't throw in Gordon, but maybe we could pry Al Thornton away in the deal.

I'm not in favor of the trade for Baron camp because of his contract but to say Rafer is better than Baron is crazy and then to say MUCH BETTER is well unbelievable.

No thanks. Long ass contract for a guy with past injury problems and at times, also has questionable work ethic? Give me T-Mac's expiring any day.

    Dido! ;)

I wouldn't have a problem with that trade. Even though Baron has been injury prone through past seasons he has shown more durability since.

Plus we don't have to trade any of our rotational players and get another valuable peice if they have to make up for about $10 mill difference from Tracy's contract.

    Man that kinda blows.

I don't see how everyone screams at the top of their lungs that we need an upgrade at PG and when it looks like there will be a chance at one, ya'll back off and say his contract is too much.

Like others have posted you have to give up something to get something. I guess we only have about 1 day and a half to see what DM has up his sleeve.

    bingo!

trading for the PG version of tmac doesn't make us any better. especially not on that contract.

although throwing in camby would really make me consider it.

Rockets were talking to Clippers about T-Mac for Baron?

In addition to looking at Vince Carter, the Rockets have discussed a deal with the Clippers that would send McGrady to L.A. in exchange for a package featuring point guard Baron Davis, according to league sources.

McGrady has been battling knee problems all season, while the Clippers have been busy in recent days trying to move Davis, who they signed last summer to a free-agent deal in excess of $60 million. -- New York Daily News

Houston has moved into negotiations with the Clippers for point guard Baron Davis

    http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=519165

The Rockets, still smarting from the loss of shooting guard Tracy McGrady, who will miss the rest of the season with knee surgery, apparently have not given up on the 2008-09 season. The team has played well without McGrady, going 13-6 (they were 20-15 with him), but needs another scoring presence if it is to rescue this season. Bringing on Davis would have some risk. He is in the first year of a five-year contract that will pay him $65 million, and he was supposed to be a building block for the Clippers. But Davis and Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy have not meshed well, and Davis is averaging 15.5 points, his lowest total in nine years. The team is just 13-41, coming off a humbling 140-100 loss to the Suns. If the Clippers can get out of Davis' contract now, they will seize the opportunity, even if it means taking back the oft-injured McGrady in return. Sporting News

Hummmmmm is he worth that contract?

This really isn't "old" info. The news sites are reporting this "since" tmac went down. In before the lock, but still, I think this may happen.

If the Clippers are willing to rid of us Tmac...I'd do it.
