I think you meant 2 PM central time, the deadline is at 3 PM E/T.

You're reminiscing back to Davis' days in GS in Nelly ball. That was the perfect fit for him. He's not going to help us that much with his game. Plus injury problems and his contract. Alston is playing well and developing nice chemistry with the team.

    People are saying include Alston...

Alston can't shoot, but he can do everything else. And he has always played better when McGrady is out. And Alston isn't known to be injury prone like Baron Davis. So I'd hang on to Alston, but wouldn't mind a Tracy for Baron trade.

[rquoter] My longtime colleague Sean Deveney of The Sporting News was the first to report the possibility Wednesday of Davis' going to Houston. Scroll further down on this compendium of trade chatter and you will also find a report from ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard about the Clips trying to lure Houston and New Jersey into a three-way scenario that would put Davis in Houston, McGrady in New Jersey and Carter in L.A.

Yet I'm told that the Rockets are unwilling to take on Davis' contract even if the Clippers were prepared to structure a deal in which they took back Tracy McGrady, who will be 30 next season when he's due to earn $23 million while trying to make the never-easy comeback from microfracture knee surgery.[/rquoter]

That confirms what Feigen has been reporting. Daryl Morey is not going to take on a contract like that for a player with Davis's track record. Smart move, in my opinion. Those kind of deals can sink a franchise.

So obviously, this IS NOT the player that Morey was talking about Wednesday morning...

Trade might have been made if he was talking about Davis, wouldn't you guys say?

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Tmac is sinking the franchise.

What makes you think that he doesn't want to play for the rockets... going from a 15 win go nowhere team that just got stomped to the ground by the Suns TWICE to a playoff contender sounds appealing to anyone with a brain...

Baron Davis + Camby for Mcgrady + Alston... eh sounds ok.. but i would still do it.. better chances of us making past second round.... unless mcgrady decides to play again. Do this trade and a guarantee past 1st round but... after that i do not know.. either way mcgrady gonna be gone.. hes gonna retire in another year or 2

I would do this trade in a heartbeat. Like someone said earlier in this thread, T-Mac is bringing down the franchise. We need a leader and someone to orchestrate this rockets offense. I feel Baron Davis not only does those things but also provides additional offense in himself.

Say no to T-mac and yes to Baron!

I haven't seen this article posted, says it was updated within the past hour. More of the same, but with a more positive spin on the trade happening...

If Baron Davis comes to Houston do you think Rick will play him at the 2 while swining Alston to the 1? I don't think its a good idea having Alston/Brooks/Head/ on the bench while the Rockets are paying them good amount.

Baron is a career 41% shooter.
