He's also nototious for being a great playmaker...

    and clutch...

and bigger and stronger than most other PGs.

Every player has weaknesses. McGrady's list of weaknesses is endless.

How much better will we be able to do if we wait?

marc stein already reported that rockets were the ones holding up the trade cause they balked at taking back an oft injured and known ball stopper in baron davis

baron would NOT fit well into adelman's more structured offense where the ball has to move all the time. baron is like artest at the pg position: he likes to iso and use his big body and strength to get inside

failing that he is a NOTORIOUS chucker and that screws up his shooting pct, but he is not shy about putting up 3's like they going outta style

i love b diddy but he wont fit adelman system. we need shooters around yao not chuckers

While I agree we need shooters around Yao, if he curtailed some of his shooting he is almost identical to Rafer in strengths/weaknesses, but he is a better finisher so I believe it would still be an upgrade.

At this point in time we're all stumblin around in the dark. Only the Owner and GM knows what is truly going down.

That's just speculation. If it was that easy and they just wanted expiring contracts, then T mac would be outta here by now.

I just can't believed Clippers would take TMAc alone and no one else. This trade is absolutely lopsided against the Clippers.

Which is why Im headed to bed. Gotta be up in 5 hours.

Besides, last year when I went to bed on Trade Dealine eve a trade happened. It was only for Bobby Jackson, but it was something.

Heres to hoping for good news when I open the page in the morning.

I agree that we aren't going to get a better deal than this for Tracy. The problem is that the salaries just don't add up. Unless we could get a third team in on it that would take somebody like Kaman, this trade isn't exactly going to to work.

If we are forced to take Baron and Kaman... our salary would be atrocious for years, ESPECIALLY if we look to resign Artest.

I hope Landry is not included. We need his energy and grit. Baron and Vince together in the Rockets may cause problems. There may not be enough shots to distribute.

Maybe we could trade for a guy who doesn't get injured at the drop of a hat? Here's Hollinger's take on Baron prior to the start of the season:

2008-09 outlook: Davis opted out of his contract and signed a five-year, $65 million deal with the Clippers over the summer, returning him to his hometown and allowing him to dabble further in his film interests. As for the basketball part, I'm not sold that pairing him with Mike Dunleavy will work out well -- Dunleavy likes to call set plays on nearly every trip, while Davis' idea of a good shot is to run the shot clock all the way down to 21 before taking a 3 off the dribble. Plus, he's renowned for being stubborn about playing his way.

Throw in that he's 29 -- an age when many guards lose a step -- and has a history of injuries, that this is the Clippers, and that he joined the squad mainly for non-basketball reasons, and this one has the makings of a classic Clipper tragedy. While the Clips got the best player available in free agency once Elton Brand opted out, this marriage seems doomed from the start.

Now Hollinger isn't God by any means, but his take mirrors my own concerns about Davis. I'd rather not take the chance. If he had a different contract and was a few years younger, sure, but he doesn't and he's not.

Ugh this is bull**** , Bdiddy doesn't want to be in H-Town so why bring him here? So he will get unmotivated and quit on the team??
