When your on a 13 win team, then you wont hear much about the players not named Kevin Durant. Baron and Kaman are both unmotivated and its showing. A Mcgrady for Davis and Kaman deal would be huge for the Rockets. That would give us a good depth at the center posistion as well as a fiery pg/sg who is a playmaker that we most certainly need in late game situations. I dont know about you guys but I would much rather have Baron Davis dribbling the ball around in crunch time then Rafer. If this goes through then I will officially jump on the "Morey Wagon".

I'll assume you mean Yao from the high post throwing the alleyoop.

[rquoter]With Thursday's 3 p.m. trading deadline rapidly approaching, a look at some of the latest deals on the rumor mill ...

There could be a new guard in town for the Rockets -- and it's not Vince Carter. Houston has moved into negotiations with the Clippers for point guard Baron Davis, a source close to Davis told SportingNews.com on Wednesday. "It would be best for everyone if Baron moved on," the source said.
The Rockets, still smarting from the loss of shooting guard Tracy McGrady, who will miss the rest of the season with knee surgery, apparently have not given up on the 2008-09 season. The team has played well without McGrady, going 13-6 (they were 20-15 with him), but needs another scoring presence if it is to rescue this season.

Bringing on Davis would have some risk. He is in the first year of a five-year contract that will pay him $65 million, and he was supposed to be a building block for the Clippers. But Davis and Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy have not meshed well, and Davis is averaging 15.5 points, his lowest total in nine years. The team is just 13-41, coming off a humbling 140-100 loss to the Suns.

If the Clippers can get out of Davis' contract now, they will seize the opportunity, even if it means taking back the oft-injured McGrady in return.[/rquoter]

Good news. I think Baron is quite tradable given his talent (at least some people on this board like him, I assume other team will like him too to some extend), and T-mac is basically done this season. Why not do it?

Reason the Rockets could possibly say no is Baron Davis' 5 year contract.

we have to decide, do we want to whine about money and try to deal our way into a championship, or do we want to win now, this year, maybe next year? i want to win now, i am not concerned with after that, i don't care how much it costs, if it is possible to aquire a scorer and pg i would take it in a heartbeat

We can give up on hopes of a big free agent splash in 2010 if we do this...just think it all the way through before you jump on it...

Agreed with this, gotta have a serious think.....HECK YES...you do it.....the time to make splashes is not when everyone else has cap room but when you are one of the few players that do.

Baron is a quitter if he's not in LA , and don't trade Tracy yet. Wait for his expiring year or some news on injure player insure.

I really doubt we would get anyone good from the 2010 craziness. We need to try to win now. Next year we don't if we are going to have Ron and Yao Ming is one year older.

If Kaman can be moved as part of a three-way for a shorter contract, I'm all about this deal.

I am on the fence really. We have no shot at Lebron in 2010. But I think anyone else is a possibility. I dont know if I want to give up that opportunity for Baron Davis.

On the other side, I want to jump at the opportunity to dump McGrady, whose career could very well be over. And to be honest, we could do a lot worse than Davis.

So I am not set up for disappointment. I am good with either.

Sure, but is it possible that another team will make a desperate move next year to get Baron and send us expiring contract (just like us this year), so we basically rent Baron for this year.

Me too, I would actually be ok if the team sat pat and went to war with what they have.

This. That is what I want. Or Camby in place of Kaman. But thats highly unlikely.

Really tough call, but I would do it for BD and Kaman or Camby...

TMac and Head for Davis and Camby...

Change in Team Outlook: +6.7 ppg, +10.4 rpg, and +3.8 apg.
    Incoming Players
    Marcus Camby
    6-11 C from Massachusetts
    11.6 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 2.2 apg in 33.5 minutes
    Baron Davis
    6-3 PG from UCLA
    15.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 8.1 apg in 34.9 minutes

    Outgoing Players
    Luther Head
6-3 PG / SG from Illinois
    4.6 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.5 apg in 14.0 minutes
    Tracy McGrady
6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS)
    15.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 5.0 apg in 33.8 minutes

    L.A. Clippers Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -6.7 ppg, -10.4 rpg, and -3.8 apg.
    Incoming Players
    Luther Head
6-3 PG / SG from Illinois
    4.6 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.5 apg in 14.0 minutes
    Tracy McGrady
6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS)
    15.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 5.0 apg in 33.8 minutes

    Outgoing Players
    Marcus Camby
    6-11 C from Massachusetts
    11.6 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 2.2 apg in 33.5 minutes
    Baron Davis
    6-3 PG from UCLA
    15.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 8.1 apg in 34.9 minutes

    Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Houston and L.A. Clippers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Clippers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

If we can throw Head's contract will be more beneficial for the Rockets... But will the Clippers take 2 injured players? :D Microfracture surgery will be huge for TMac... If he can't recover with his previous surgery, how much more to a more complicated one... I'm sill not sure... Tough call
