T-Mac for Baron Davis? (Update from Sporting News)

No to Baron Davis. The guy shoot too much with a low percentage. He's the type of player that need the ball in his hands to be successful. No ball hog.

I would only agreed if they included Camby.

 

i can see the clippers jumping all over this trade if it is kaman and baron for t-mac but man that pretty much locks our team into a very injury prone pg until age 35. but this gives us a pretty versatile line up with kaman even though we are overpaying for him big time.

Regardless, it's Wikipedia. They had Josh Boone listed as a Rocket the other day.

Edit: I looked again. It says he plays for the Houston Texans.

Wiki is probably the worst possible source for trade rumors.

It says he got traded to the Texans, Dang and I thought the Rockets were after him.

 

Actually, (for the moment, at least) it says he plays for the Houston Texans.

This would improve us defensively. This particular 5 would be beastly on Defense:

Baron
Artest
Shane
Kaman
Yao

I might take a chance on this. It severly limits us in cap relief and we would be stuck with this lineup for 2-3 years, but it clearly addresses the two glaring holes in our lineup, PG and backup big, along with drastically improving our energy out there.

The key question is do all these players fit into the system. Ive always thought we needed a PG who shoots the three and Baron isnt that great behind the arc, but if he buys into the system, then we could be very solid for the next 2-3 years and WC finalists.

Rotation might look like this:

Baron/Brooks/Alston/Barry
Artest/Wafer/Barry
Battier/Artest
Scola/Landry/Kaman
Yao/Kaman

Alston, Luther and Deke all expendable. Maybe even Landry if there isnt enough minutes to go around, but odds are there will be injuries so everyone should have adequete minutes.

For those who wouldnt do the trade, what is your ideal lineup (keep it reasonable please) 2 years from now after the McGrady contract is out of Houston? I know alot of people want Bosh, but is the uncertainty worth this opportunity now?
