Fact of the matter is that I posted this thread w/o really thinking all the BS that would ensue. As for the one's inquiring about the rolling eyes, maybe I foresaw the fuster cluck that would ensue throughout this thread? Or, maybe I did my best to keep my mouth shut, yet people still found a way to pole jock me. In all seriousness, I don't really care what T-Mac thinks or does from this point on. I wish him nothing but the best in the future. I hate seeing athletes prematurely robbed of their athleticism, as should anyone who calls themselves a fan of any sport. Concerning all the "hate" on Tracy, there's a difference between people who blatantly hate on him, and those, like I, who really do not care. So for those whom think that this>> = , below me. Everyone else, have an excellent day.
Everybody already told this to tinman a thousand times, your post won't really make any difference. He's just obsessed, slim shady to mariah carey style. Anyway regarding Tmac and Yao those two were the reasons I became a rocket fan, and although both of them have moved on with their lives I think 1-11 deserves a spot in Rockets history. Personally I think both their jerseys should be retired, just 'cause during their era they made everyone believe we could win everything.
Yao yes. McGrady get his jersey retired in Houston? What are you smoking? Do you even know who's up in the rafters? Those guys are MVPs, champions, hall of famers... McGrady getting his number retired is like the US printing money with Benedict Arnold's face on it. And you realize they gave away McGrady's number right after he left right? Hell Terrence Williams had his number. You think they would do that for Olajuwon or Malone? Do you even know who these Rockets are? I doubt it. If you think that they should retire people's number because "it made them believe" something that never happened. Listen. This is the HOUSTON ROCKETS, a team with TRADITION not the BOBCATS. They don't retire people who win NOTHING and get booed by the fans.
The fact you brought up Jordan and Hakeem and Kobe and actually think that a 22 game regular winning streak puts McGrady ANYWHERE in the same class as those guys makes me wonder why you are smoking. The fact you guys pinpoint the entire winning streak, in which Tracy didn't even play all 22 games on him, shows you that you didn't watch a single Rockets game during that streak. you did realize that Hakeem led this team to two NBA Championships? That's the best streak in Rockets history.
Oh look! It's a T-Mac thread! It would be quite interesting to find out which poster has posted the most times in this thread.

Oh I get it... it's funny because I have... a common pop-culture reference in my username? Lulz? Anyways, yes, they were better that year, for reasons which I've already explained. They would have been even better still had McGrady been healthy that year. That team would have been truly epic if McGrady was healthy (mentally and physically).
i nvr considered yao and tmac stars. They're above average but neither of them can finish games on a week in week out basis
Take out McGrady and we don't go on that epic streak. And then some Houston fans hate TMac so much retrospectively that they discount all of the good times we had and say "it was just the regular season", as if they are Lakers fans. Go tear down someone else. And certainly don't insult us by talking about 'true fans'. Being that kind of a pedant on the internet never ends well.
