the last thing i remember him doing lately was (a) going to vegas; and (b) announcing on his own that he'd have a big surgery (which he may not end up taking eventually) and threw the organization under the bus (which ultimately irritated a lot of fans).
Is it too much to expect our sports icons to live up to the same principles that we abide by in our own lives? Like showing up on work every day, on time, not sulking about the increased pressure that comes with increased opportunity, doing piss poor work and then making up excuses for it when confronted by management. You can't technically call T-Mac a quitter since he's still employed and taking care of his injury through the channels of his employment, but you can definitely blame him for mailing it in, on this, his most critical, career-defining of seasons.
going philosophical on me now, son? i try to remember all what i can. and if you choose to only remember how great someone WAS, you'd end up watching his game tapes all your life.
