I would like my own appreciation thread. I woke up this morning, got dressed, and came to work. That's worth a thread! Come on haters!
According to my tracking he had 9 defensive breakdowns.....NINE....almost twice as many as anyone else. Effort my arse. DD
Not really Houston, because he could play smarter if his knee is so tender, better to give up a jump shot than a layup...play a step or two back..... And he has the ability to anticipate better and move his feet to stay in front of his man. Tmac is a problem out there, on offense and defense. I think the team should shut him down and put him to work in the gym on rehab, because whether it is mental or physical he is hurting this team. DD
I agree, the defense was awful, but at the same time he definitely helped spark the run in the 4th quarter with a couple of key steals, nice looks, etc. If he could have hit a shot to save his life it might've been a different ballgame in spite of how crappy the he and the rest of the team played.
TMac is costing the team points on offense and defense. Yes, he makes some plays (on both ends), but in general, he's not being effective.
How about Iguoduola getting a layup clinic on Tracy? Did Tracy know how basketball is played on both ends of floor?
And that's the bottom line. He played crappy, and for that he deserves a "thank you" thread? That's pretty damned obnoxious, especially when guys who do deserve some accolades like Scola and Wafer are ignored.
the first 5 minutes he played incredible. i've never seen t-mac play so hard. then apparently his knee ave out.
if he was playing with effort he would've stopped settling for the jumper. For the first 5 minutes I was happy to see his playing with effort - that quickly disappeared. I won't applaud the guy for playing hard for half of one quarter.
Or his desire. Perhaps he felt 5 minutes of stellar play was enough to silence his critics. That's apparently all he cares about.
i said in the game thread that he faded after the first 6 minutes of the first. his drives shows what he is capable of and i was pretty excited to see the old "TMac-to-the-rack" back. however, for the rest of the game he just settled for (as other posters words it) "facilitated". assists are great, but what we really need from TMac is his offense. he needs to be effective on the drive again. in better days, this breaks down the opponent's defense, since it draws a double team and he can either score or kick it to an open man. now days, teams don't double him out in the perimeter cuz he's bricking his jump shots. anyways, i'll hold judgment until after the allstar game. the rockets usually have slumps then go on great runs.
Well, not the results, but effort was there. And shutting him down would be good idea cause he is really bad right now. He is cleary walking on heap instead of leg. If only this team would be able to win some games without him..
It's a no-win situation. If he plays hurt and is not effective, he's criticized. If he sits, he's criticized. I say shut it down and get healthy, come back and shut up the critics. Playing hurt obviously isn't garnering any points with the fans.
i think he's getting more comfortable, he called for an alley, which means he believes he can get up there. also i think his shot has been so bad because he is used to releasing the ball so high and now he isn't getting up there and he hasn't adjusted it
