I don't know dude...like you sound right about T-MAC being more effective having the ball the whole time but i seriously think they could coexist. If you knew, T-MAC patterned his game to fit in with Yao better when he came to houston, I'm pretty sure he could change things up a little bit and both are good off the dribble. But i really like this idea..the rockets draft midgets every year and Sheed would give us size...more like the next big 3. However, i would be trying to get Billups + hamilton which would almost never happen unless we throw something else in. Detroit knows what T-MAC can do especially after he almost beat them singlehandedly when the pistons were the first seed. Trading Yao seems to be a better option, but like you added, its probably never going to happen unless masses of people call the GM or w.e idk
T-Mac isn't going anywhere! After last season ... man, I can't wait for next season. If we could sign Magette and/or Mo Williams ...
I just don't like the idea of trading with Detroit. Rip Hamilton is obviously a good player but you need to base your offense specifically around him and his need to constantly come off of screens. Not exactly the kind of offense I want whenever you have one of the most unguardable players in the league inside. Having Prince and Battier on the same team is too redundant. No thanks to Sheed. Billups is a realistic PG upgrade but he's also over 30 and owed a ton of money on a lengthy contract. We aren't getting Stuckey or Maxiell. Where is the appeal from our end?
Houston gets : Prince - Billups - Amir Detroit gets : T-Mac - Landry and #25 pick The only deal I would do with pistons is this . After that we can trade Rafer , Battier , Bobby Jackson , Head , Novak etc. to get a solid shooting guard like Vince Carter or something ..
No, we don't want Rasheed Wallace on this team. He is no good. He can't do anything on the court except get T'd up. He's worthless. If he actually cared about basketball he would have the chance to be an All Star. But he doesn't and i don't know why any team would want him when he does nothing. He's cost the pistons there last two seasons. Hamilton is a good player and could help this team but T-Mac>Hamilton and 25th pick>Rasheed Wallace. A better trade would be T-mac for Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince.
Hi everyone, I'm a Rookie at this so don't be too hard on me, lol. I feel we don't have enough to offer to get a good deal done without losing key pieces, so there will have to be multiple teams involoved. I thought of 3 other teams that may be in the trading market (Denver, Detroit, New York). http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...~10~8&te=&cash= To do these trades I thought of every team involved reported intentions and how it could work for everyone. I know that there are many different ways to look at trades and if it was good for all teams involved but I thought of creating cap room and getting pieces they may need or want. I also took some simple numbers and added them up. I used a player's PPG and star quality (with .5 star being the lowest, and 2 stars being the highest). Take a look at the gains and loses, the numbers are crazy. Denver is looking for cap relief and players that hustle and play defense. They also have been looking for a legit PG ever since they traded Andre Miller. Get: Billups(17ppg, 1.5stars), Battier(9.3ppg, 1star), C. Hayes(3ppg, 1star) Detroit 2008 1st rd pick Lose: Anthony(25.7PPG, 2stars), Camby(9.1ppg, 1star) Gain: 29.3ppg & 3stars w/cap relief Lose: 36.8ppg & 3stars (Iverson and Smith will make up ppg difference) Detroit is looking to break up their core group but want star players in return. Reports say Anthony and Randolph is on their list. Get: Anthony(25.7PPG, 2stars), Randolph(17.6PPG, 1.5stars), Francis(5.5ppg, .5star- status could be higher if he can return to 80% of old self). Lose:Billups(17ppg, 1.5stars), Hamilton(17.3ppg, 1.5stars), Prince(13.2ppg, 1star) Gain: 48.8ppg & 4stars (Francis could be key) Lose: 47.5ppg & 4stars New York is looking to dump some salary to fix the mess Isiah Thomas made and also to make a run at Lebron James. D'Antoni has expressed he want guys who can run and shoot. Get: Camby(9.1ppg, 1star) B. Jackson(7.7ppg, .5star), Head(7.6ppg, .5star) Houston 2008 1st rd pick Lose: Randolph(17.6ppg, 1.5stars), Marty Collins(3.2ppg, .5star) Gain: 24.4ppg & 2stars (Two shooters extra draft picks and expiring contracts for Lebron, got rid of Randolph 13.3mil) Lose: 20.8ppg & 2stars As Rockets fans we all know what we need. A 3rd scorer, backup wing, PG and backup C. We can address two with this trade. Get: R. Hamilton(17.3ppg, 1.5stars), Prince(13.2ppg, 1star), M. Collins(3.2ppg .5star) Lose:Battier(9.3ppg, 1star), Francis(5.5ppg, .5star), Head(7.6ppg, .5star), Jackson(7.7ppg, .5star), Hayes(3ppg, .5star) Gain: 33.7ppg & 3stars Lose: 33.1ppg & 3stars After signing Landry, hopefully he won't take too much of the MLE, lets try to sign Juan Carlos Navarro if not then go for Chris Duhon. Then bring back Gerald Green. I feel he will get a whole lot better learning from and playing against T-Mac, Hamilton and Prince. Alston/Navarro or Duhon/Brooks Hamilton/Green/Collins T-Mac/Prince/Novak Scola/Landry/Harris Yao/Deke/Woods What do you guys think?
I'm sorry to anyone who already read my Denver Detroit New York and Houston trade. I posted it on two different threads.
when i say off the ball, that means he runs off screens ala rip (which he's extremely great at), not just a standstill spot up shooter. tmac catches his rhythm quicker by going off screens/curls. i'm sure you know that if you watch rocket games. sheed never has his head on right. so what do you expect? he is playing with little pressure on a balanced team and sucked more than ever in the playoffs jacking up 3s. with yao in the post, he's gonna be even more relegated to the perimeter -> bad combo. not if we keep seeing him get injured year in and year out like we have for the past 3 years. it's gonna get old pretty quick.
if i watch rocket games? do you? hate to break it to you, but tmac rarely does anything off the ball. averaging 13 ppg in the playoffs isnt exactly sucking imo. and why do you make the assumption that sheed would start? i think he'd be an effective 6th man. he could even provide quality minutes at backup center if we needed him to. sorry bud, but as long as he's making les money, he'll be on the rockets. i dont know why you bother arguing this point.
I would do this trade any day of the week...the next big 3...but what would make this a whole lot better is if we traded Yao for them T-MAC (SF) RIP (SG) SHEED (PF) or Yao Sheed Rip doesn't sound too bad..
watch the games. then you know he's sucking. and you really think he's gonna take a 6th man role, after being a starter all of his career? and when he's clearly better than scola in terms of both ends of the floor?
Not going to happen, Dont want it to happen. Neither are a playmaker in crucial times. At least tmac has the ability to be one.
I love this trade it could give us options which is awesome! Sheed makes Scola or Landry expandable, thus we can see Mike Miller here making Battier + BJ expandable meaning we may be able to get a better PG. Upgraded PG (caldron? I can't really think of anyone, maybe Bdiddy if warriors are serious about trading him and morey can pull some magic)/Alston/Brooks Rip/Luther (ughh)/SF3 MM/Novak/Landry Sheed/Hayes/Harris/Landry Yao/Deke Looks good to me.
didn't tmac just avg 27, 8, 7 in the playoffs with the entire jazz D trying to stop him? and he got better as the series got along? no way morey will trade him UNLESS he gets a starting PG in return (that's our main weakness).
