I'd rather put Deke's jersey up there before I put McGrady's. Neither will happen though. McGrady I don't think did enough to earn it. I would say Yao doesn't deserve it either, but because of his global reach, he'll probably have his jersey retired.
Anyone there when the Kings played in Houston after the trade? What an outstanding video they put together for Landry's return, followed by a standing ovation. I think I nearly cried watching that. That was different though. No one wanted Landry out of Houston. Rockets may end up putting a video together for Tmac's return. I wish they wouldnt. I dont want the crowd getting all caught up on the good times of his time here in Houston and end up being soft on him during the game. Stay strong Houston! Deke is a great guy, but I don't think he did enough as a Rocket. Rudy T, Calvin, Dream, they put in 15+ years with the Rockets organization.. Clyde got his retired because of 95 and he's a hometown guy Tmac fails in loyalty/years with the organization as well as accomplishments
One of the biggest losers in NBA history, not just Rockets history, to ever play the game. 20 years from now, when the name Tracy McGrady is mentioned, what will be associated with it? Yes, you guessed it....failure to get out of first round in 7 tries. Do you really want to give that guy a standing ovation and hang his number up? Don't cheapen your franchise.

And what HE did is save our franchise from becoming Pacers of the west (One decent season every five years) Listen to me, im NOT saying tmac is better than Moses Malone, Clyde, Hakeem, Murphy, and Rudy. You can hate the guy all u want but by his skills and what he did for the Rockets, I think he deserves it. You cant let hatred for a player blind you of his talents, For example, I HATE Kobe Bryant, but I can admit that he is one of the best players of all time, I HATE Dirk, but that fool can shoot! I believe he'll get a good welcome just because Rocket fans are polite and he never insulted the Rockets so openly like Scottie Pippen. Fans back then really hated Pippen like 10x more than Tmac. Also, he's not relevant anymore. The Cleveland fans booing leBron was because he's relevant.
Rudy played in the NBA 11 years, Murphy played 13 years! If you have to play 15+ years with one team than there are many players who shouldn't have their jerseys in the rafters for other teams! Know what your saying before you say it, just saying!
