You know I was listening to 97.5 FM this morning, and they talked about the mental toughness needed to return from injury. They were emphasizing how tough it really is to be confident in your body once it's been injured. One guy sited a story when another athlete came up to him asking about the injury and how he just can't seem to get confidence in it, and that he babies the injury a lot. The guy responded that if he didn't just believe that it was better, he'd be out of a career.

Years later, the now-healthy player really thanked said advice-giver for saving his career.

Now, this isn't T-Mac's first injury. But the story helped me really understand a little better that he has to be mentally very tough to have the confidence in his body to perform how it can not just from one injury but from every single one he has.

It's no secret I'm a T-Mac fan, and I knew he had to have some mental toughness, but I found a new appreciation after hearing that story.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing him play, whenever he's ready. Hopefully tonight goes well for him and the team.

Very nice post, and it is all in his head, that is the point.

He has to believe to achieve.

I think he doesn belive, what's more he is fired up. He know this season is something special, and we can say it, if not this year then never.

The other thing is mental. Every time you come back from the injury is tough. Your body may even be 100% but you don't know what to expect. You still remember the pain and you just don't know if you're gonna feel the same after next step, or not. You just think about it every time so it is important to just forget about that.

I am going through that right now.....I just started playing ball on Monday after more than 6 months off after surgery....and am not exactly going full out....but confidence is growing the more I play.

And, I am nowhere near the level of Tmac....but I do have a bit of an understanding about lack of confidence in a repaired body part.

Oh man, 6 months is a lot. I had difficulties with comming back from 2 month injury (back).

It is easy, if you are on the court and you are thinking about it that it is going to hurt. But you just gotta push yourself through that.

    This thread is hilarious:
T-Mac telling the truth like it is , whether it's what people want to hear or not and everybody bash him.

His personal asistant or whoever wrote that blog for him syas the right things and what people want to hear and everybody love him even though we know he didn't write this.
