Pretty hard to believe that he wouldn't let the organization writing his checks announce this kind of information, isn't it?

Suppose he's not. Suppose the Rockets convince him he can play, and reluctantly he does. Suppose he never gets micro-fracture surgery done on that knee.

What does that say about him and this whole episode?

    This is GREAT news.......

It allows all the uncertainty to go away for this year, and it gives Tmac and the organization a sliver of hope for next year.

Get well Tracy, I hope that whichever doctor you finally agreed with is giving you the right diagnosis....

And please.....PLEASE...this time......DO EXACTLY WHAT THE DOCTORS SAY....in rehabbing it.

Good luck....and I hope you make it back.

I hope he has a full recovery. If he's able to come back and help this team, then that's great. If not, then it's time to move on.

Either way, I wish him the best. It's never good to have a serious operation like this. Hate him or love him, the guy's body has been through a lot and he's always found a way to get back on the court. Unfortunately, that may not be the case this time.

For all the T-mac haters who said he's such a slacker or wuss, you guys must have forgotten the fact that he was one of the reason why we put up such a fierce fight with Dallas and Utah in the playoff last couple seasons. I understand that you guys are extremely upset with the way he handled the situation this season but can you put yourself into his shoes before you criticize an elite basketball player in such an extreme way? T-mac didn't get past the 1st round of playoff even once in his career. It was the lack of talents when he was in Orlando. That was why he wanted out and came to us. T-mac was one of the main reason why we had couple of 50+ wins season. Unfortunately, injuries on both T-mac & Yao had setback the playoff runs from the Rockets in the previous years but you can't say that he did not put up the tremendous efforts to put on a show for us in many games. 13 pts in 35 sec? the jam on Shawn Bradley? The game winning shot against the Dallas in the playoff? etc.. you name it. Yet he haven't win a playoff series even once in his what? 11th or 12th seasons? He knows that he is surrounded by the best talent this year throughout his whole career. Therefore he tried to play in different ways. Unfortunately, the injury in his knee is so bad that it requires microfracture surgery to repair it. (He tried all the options already and it did not help, I saw all the games he played this season and it's QUITE OBVIOUS that his knee is bothering him) How many dunks have he missed in his whole career? Probably as many as he missed this season. Every time he goes to the rim, more often we prayed for him not to break the rim than getting block by it. Gawd, rockets fans. Stop bashing the guy who is trying everything possible so he can HAVE A CHANCE to get PASS THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFF. If you guys want to blame anyone, just blame the doctors who failed to stop him from playing or just blame on his selfishness for TRYING REALLY HARD TO PLAY so he can tastes his first win for a playoff series.

I pray to god that he gets his surgery done asap and comes back at the all-star break so he can step on the court along with Yao and co. to claim that 2010 NBA CHAMPION title and the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy. God bless.

    Luck of the draw.

    ;)

I am always reasonable...nothing I have said about the situation is different...just got to deal with the now.

I still think he has 2 diagnosis, and he chose the Microfracture over trying to strengthen the knee through rehab.

At the end of the day, both could work, but only if he commits to doing whatever is asked.

I am glad he is moving forward in a direction, I am not sure the Rockets organization agrees with him/it...but he should do whatever is in his own best interests.

I would be damned if that happens.. he can only hurt the team if he plays in his current form..

and i think daryl morey would be insane to convince him to play again..

    time to move on.

T-Mac is very wishy-washy, but everyone already knew this. Earlier in the season, he said "I have to shut it down", when he really didn't. This really sucks if true, but maybe it's time I accept he's done.
