There was a link posted in other naother thread of all the players, i'm sure someone else saw it as well. It listed anything from 2 months (which were miracles so don't expect this), to over a year and a half. I'm not trying to say tmac will be back at the same level or that he's going to breeze through his rehab, i'm just saying it's not a given he 'll be out over a year. You can't make an estimate before the surgery is even done, you don't know how well the surgery will go or if there will be complications. Trust me, i doubt tmac's toughness as much as the next guy, but I think we might as well wait before declaring him gone for next season as well.

I *GUESS* TMac told the front office "either you trade Artest or I will have a surgery to sit until my contract expires".

    he tried. and failed.

sometimes it's good to admit reality. tracy finally does it. this is his last ditch effort to save his career.

when you get blocked by the rim on a fastbreak and you're 6'8, something's wrong.

I wonder if they will post my comment on that story?

"Hey Tracy, thanks for coming out with the info on your surgery 2 days before the trade deadline. I'm sure one had nothing to do with the other."

You can't really compare Tmac's case to Amare's because I believe that Amare's was much more of a serious knee injury.
    Correct me if I'm wrong.
Even through Amare was only 21, Tmac is still only 29.
I doubt he'll be ready by training camp, but I do believe he could come back early season.

I just mentioned this specifically, Amare came back from it TWICE. He came back too early the first time and had to sit back out. It wasn't two years straight of rehab, it was like a year, then cam back, couldn't keep going, and then sat out again almost another year. SO he made it longer than it should have been.

I understand your point, but Amare is a bad example.

So Tracy, here's a simple question: If you are now dead-set to have the surgery, what are you out there in Chicago having another "second" opinion for?

Or as the game shows say: Is that your FINAL answer?

this team should still get past the first round. artest is more than capable of replacing tracy (this year's tracy anyways).

    the bench is vastly improved.

if we dont get out of the first round it's a disappointment (unless another injury happens)

Calm down. Nothing is real until he actually takes the surgery.

    I agree..

now that nobody needs to "defer" to T-Mac.. we will all know what each player is made up of.. Team basketball should push them to round 2.. Adelman can be smart at times.. I will be looking out for Yao, Wafer and Ron.. lets see what they do..

anyway.. getting back to t-mac... sad ending to a sad career..

I feel very bad about this. This is a tragedy for a talented player like Tmac.

    Wish him all the best!

It's pretty funny he call up Stephen A. Smith of ESPN to announce it as a breaking news. Sorry, but the guy is an attention w****. It's nothing but ME ME ME first.

If Tmac is out for this season and next season, I think Rox will get insurance money AND cap relieve from NBA, which Rox can use to get another nice free agent (in addition to signing Artest to a longer deal, maybe). The cap relief may not be the full $21M of Tmac's salary, but even half that is quite nice.

Maybe Yao's injury was a cover up/fake last year for the Olympics and Tmac is pulling the same stunt to screw them over.

Even Yi pull an injury in the last like 10 games.

    That's stupid.
    Don't be ridiculous.
    Nothing is being staged.
Houston wants a championship and so do it's players.
    Get real.

Dude, you will always rationalize for Tmac, I respect that.

However, even if I believe Tmac is THIS connected with internet, I remember he leaked the decision to S.A. Smith LAST NIGHT.

(oh, and if you actually go onto the blog, the posting time is 9:28am.)

    Now, rationalize that.
