I'll put in this perspective with T-Mac and Kobe. One was against one of the best defenses and most well-coached team over the last decade. One was against a team that is often allergic to defense. One has never been done before, while the other one wasn't even a record.
What's crazy about it? Who cares about the player anyway? We're judging the performance and not hte player
It's a shame I wasn't able to watch McGrady 13 in 35 live on TV, but after watching replays of it, it gets my vote for best performance of the decade.
I guess some people can say while MerGady's performance was only for 35 seconds of game time, Kobe almost did it for the whole game. And I may remember wrong, but weren't some saying Kobe could've tied 100 points in a game had he not been pulled out of the game by Phil? Oh well, I think both are great. It can go either way with me.
Scoring 81 pts is rather a sign of selfishness whereas the 13 points in 35 secs was simply will and determination to win it for the team. I will take team over ego all day, any day even if it is Tracy McGrady.
Kobe's 81 point game was the most impressive, but I voted for T-Mac because I was actually watching that game at the time, so it was the most exciting performance for me personally.
I don't care if it was the regular season, but T-Mac's 13 in 35 was one of the greatest comeback wins in Rocket's history. Since it happened, I still haven't seen any comeback that rivals that one. I use to get teary eyed every time I watched it because it was no impossible. Easily one of the best NBA moments for me.
Another thing that makes TMac's 13 impressive is that everyone in Toyota Center had already left. There was probably like 2000 fans left. I remember cause I was in the game. It is not that easy to comeback when the fans have already given up on you. Kobe could probably get 81 in a game easily today if they gave him all the shots against a lousy team. Frankly, I would not be surprised if he gets an 80 point game this season.
True, that's what rattles around my head. I was like, the Raptors? No way, they don't care about defense at that moment, they just run the offense and do not pay much attention to the other end. That's why T-Mac's performance was and is and always will be special and unique in the book of history of the NBA. I'll go with 13 points in 33 seconds any day of the week.
Didn't Kobe go on to tear it up over the next few nights, too? Or am I remembering a different scoring tear? I think its ridiculous to even compare these two things. They were both pretty damn awesome.
Some pure haterz in this thread. LOL at bringing up that lucky Madmax shot or the Reggie comeback. Neither applies to this decade. I'd say Kobe's 81 is prolly the best, but Tmac is a close 2nd. I was at the game and it was definitely one of the most amazing games I have ever seen. The amount of trash talking Sperms fans were doing was making me crazy. Safe to say I'd let him have it after the game. One ****** definitely wanted to kick my ass if not for the security.
bro, that was brought up because people said that was the greatest thing they've ever seen in the nba . not in the context of the decade. I've seen better and so have you.
13 in 35. If Kobe really wanted to, he could score 81 against another bad team if his teammates gave him the ball every single possession.

I gotta go with Kobe. Remember during that game the Lakers were losing at one point in the 2nd half. It's not like he did this while the Lakers were blowing out Toronto the whole game.
No matter how much I dislike McGrady and his attitude, that 13 in 35 is one of the most spectacular things ever in NBA history. You can't hate on that moment, you just can't.
Both will be hard to beat. It's not just the fact that he scored 13 in 35, but he helped the team comeback and win the game. I don't see anyone topping either one anytime soon.
I think that was the Mavs game when Kobe had 62 after 3 quarters but didn't play the 4th qt. I don't know it could be the Raptors game too I'm not sure when he was taken out of the game in the Toronto game.
