I think the problem with Tracy is that he is not very interested at playing the regular season anymore. He just wants to play the post-season.So he took it easy with his rehab during the preseason and regular season and hope Yao and the others can carry the Rockets into the playoff, then he can be a hero there.

To be fair to Alston he doesn't suck, he's just mediocre. There's no question he's the weak link in the chain.

Kobe may have quit but I have never, ever seen anything so blatant and disgusting as what T-Mac did in that Toronto game. The acid test for whether or not you've drunk the T-Mac kool aid is how you reacted to his play in that game. What he did that night just showed a total disrespect for his team, his coach and his organization.

You are joking.....I don't want to derail my own thread but Rafer Alston is putrid.....he hustles and plays hard, but he is about a PG version of Ryan Bowen.

Was it worse then when players refuse to go back into a game because the play wasnt run for them (Pippen), was it worse then throwing a towel into your coaches face cuz you are pissed (Horry), was it worse then charging into the stands to try to beat up a fan (Artest)?

Im not defending Tmac giving up on the play. But you act like he took out a knife and tried to cut Moon's throat. Whether you believe him injured or not, Tmac knew he couldnt stop Moon cuz he cant jump off that leg. So rather then try to stop the shot he let Moon have it. Yes, there was no effort. Yes, he quit on the play. But to call it the most blatant and disgusting thing you have ever seen on a basketball court is stupid.

Actually the Moon play was pretty bad too but it wasn't what I was thinking about. There was a sequence of plays there where T-Mac barely got over the half court line and refused to budge, letting his team play 4 on 5.

All of the things you mentioned took place on the bench. In terms of actual play on the court I'd rank T-Mac's nonsense right up there with the worst I've ever seen. He was deliberately sabotaging his team's play on the court.

Alston's incredibly streaky, but the very nature of streakiness means that he has some pretty good games.

His court vision sucks, his fg % is awful, he can't penetrate and I think his passing is suspect. The only reason I don't rate him as putrid is the occasional game like the victory over LA last season to continue the streak.

This thread started with very little significance. How it has progressed, I'm not sure. I mean, to say it's haters vs apologist is just not right in itself. I mean, at least get BOTH terms right, lol. If it's HATERS VS someone, lol, it should be HATERS vs (THOSE THAT HAVE SENSE). not sure what you would call us. i guess....Sense-Havers works for a lack of a better term.

if the op fixes it to hater or someone that has sense, the thread will go from negative 5 stars to at least 1 star, lol. :)))

tracy realizes that in order to be successul in the post-season,you have to have some sort of success as a unit during the reg season. at least i hope he realizes that. it's pretty evident in most championship teams.

So if you're ever criticized T-Mac you are a hater and if you ever defended him you are an apologist. hmmmm...

I'm just going to refuse to vote.

I don't know about the Steriods, but I just wish Tracy could play with half the passion the Jeff Bagwell played with.

Maybe Tracy can learn to play left handed?

I'm showing support for T-Mac in my first Youtube video!

    <object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SJE1T0_PydE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SJE1T0_PydE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object>

Albeit inadvertently... He happens to appear on my wall in Fatthead form during the duration of the video. :D

Although I voted "hater" because of his recent shennanigans. I have faith the pendulum will swing back.

Ya know....I HAVE a time or 2 secretly wished McGrady took some HGH or steroids or something..... We wouldnt ever have to know unless they catch him. He gets caught and suspended 20-25 games? Not like he doesnt miss that much games a season already... Or he could make up some situation about his physical ailments and get granted a medical exception for "recuperative" steroid use, or whatever...

    Beats him outright quitting

I am neither. Definitely not a hater and will never be an apologist. A poor game is still a poor game but always hopeful TMac will play better in next game.

Take all the people who thought TMac in Orlando as the greatest player on earth, put them on a bus with one way ticket to Orlando.

And when their parents ask them what happened to their children? tell them they just got a free trip to disney land.

yeah that whole orlando tmac bs has turned me to the dark side.
I'm with the Yao fans now.

I mean, who gives a freaking flip? if you want scoring I could tell many other players who did better than Tmac in Orlando

    How about Kobe dropping 81?
How Jordan ...like every freaking season?
How about Wilt Chamberlain dropping 100?
Alex English. Bernard King. there's a gazillion more examples

Hell, How about Maxwell dropping 30 points in 1 quarter. Still no Rocket has yet to break that record.
